Do you use olive oil as your hair conditioner?

I'v just read a web article which said that olive oil is very good for your scalp/hair and some people use it as a natural hair conditioner.

If it is true, could you pls advise how you use it? And which type of olive oil is the best?

Thank you

I have done in the past but I find coconut oil nicer.

Whack it on for an hour or so, or sleep on a towel and leave it on over night. In the shower put shampoo directly on your hair THEN add the water, this ensures no oil is left over.

Hi, do you mean that you just put olive/coconut oil before you go to sleep. Then, the next day you would put shampoo on and rinse?

Thanks,

I used to, but like valium I have switched to coconut oil. I currently have very dry and damaged hair due to bleaching it so I soak it in loads of the oil overnight, tie it back and wrap my pillow in a towel to prevent staining. But when my hair is ok condition, I just put about a tablespoonful from mid lengths downwards, for at least 30 mins and wash it out. I just shampoo twice as I always do, and condition too. I use it as a weekly moisture treatment. I use Kerastase Masquintense too

I put it on in the summer and plait up my hair, washing and rinsing out if I want my hair down later that day/night or the next.

I also use a tiny amount to smooth down hair rather than buying a 'special' hair one from the chemist
