Why won't my jeans stay up?

This happens every time I buy a new pair. Fine straight after a wash but by afternoon need hoiking up constantly.
I'm pretty sure I'm buying the right size.
I do buy ones with stretch as I need it I find them more comfortable but is this the problem? I don't spend a fortune on them, could it be this?
Imjust sick of them working their way down my fat ass all the time.

Mine won't stay up at all...and I thought it was lack of ass lol. Recon the only ones that would stay up is the over belly ones right up to my waist that I wore when I was 18...yuk. I wear on the hips ones (not low and not high!), a belt and my ones still fall down. I have no answers!

SorrelForbes · 24/06/2013 12:02

I think high waisted jeans are one solution. My Gap high rise Skinnies don't fall down at all but I'm forever having to pull up my boyfriend jeans.

You might need to size down tbh as jeans do stretch very quickly.

50ShadesOfMaybe · 24/06/2013 14:53

My rule with jeans - especially any with stretch in them - is to buy them as tight as possible without actually being painful.

Then, when they give after an hour of so of wearing, they don't fall down or bag at the knees. High waisted also helps.

HeadFairy · 24/06/2013 14:55

I think 50Shades is right, you have to buy a size smaller. I also always use a belt with mine. I'm quite pear shaped, with big hips so I have to buy a largish size to get over my bum, but then they never fit on the waist, so a belt is an absolute essential.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2013 15:20

I wear a belt. Pulled tight!

JazzDalek · 24/06/2013 16:26

I almost always need a belt. The only ones I don't need a belt for are higher-waisted.

PoppyWearer · 24/06/2013 16:33

My theory is that this gets worse after having DCs. Never had this issue before DCs. The little mum-tum pouch you get after having DCs (even my skinny friend who worked hard to get a bikini bod back said she had one) gives way to gravity as the day wears on and pushes the waistband of jeans down.

Jeans are simply not designed/engineered to deal with this part of our anatomies!

I use a tight belt.

CoteDAzur · 24/06/2013 16:39

Another vote for Gap high-rise skinnies.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2013 16:46

My problem is that my waist is a size smaller than my hips, so I even need a belt with high-rise. Well, it's more my thighs than my hips!

FattyMcChubster · 24/06/2013 17:08

So we think high rise is the way to go? Do they come with wider hips and smaller waists or is that a dumb thing to ask?! My waist is smaller than my hips and I don't want the bagging around my middle.
Smaller size? Really? I quite like the idea of that! Grin ones that I really have to wriggle into?

oh i have this problem too

drives me nuts

can't work out if its cos they are too small or too big for me, but idon't think they are either as they fit perfect when i first put them on Confused

SorrelForbes · 24/06/2013 17:33

I have a 28/29" waist and 41/42" hips and the Gap High Rise Skinnies in a size 28 fit really well. I could probably squeeze into a size 26 but I am waiting until I buy my next pair when hopefully I'll have lost a few pounds.

MadBusLady · 24/06/2013 17:49

Wear a belt - a proper one pulled tight, not a skinny "show" one. Men seem to wear belts as a matter of course, so I don't know why we don't.

Partridge · 24/06/2013 19:37

Agree about tummy. It's my fat tummy and relatively small hips/lack of bum that make jeans impossible.

No belt can contain the builder's crack.

Catmint · 24/06/2013 19:43

Re belt, I got fed up of the way the buckle protrudes out (on my tum, anyway) so I bought a snake belt, which is smoother.
