What do people wear for a date these days?

At a nice bar in town (London).
Am size 10-12, pear shaped, still looking a bit post-natal.
Feel most comfortable in black but don't want to necessarily wear black. Prefer skirts to trousers.

Any ideas?

Am sahm at the moment but used to work in the city. So used to different 'looks'. Want to look young(ish!), smart, fit and attractive, but not too revealing.
