Do you all have enormous purses? Or what?

I want a new purse as am sick of rummaging in the bottom of mine to access the coins. I have had a felt one for a few years, primarily because the size is right and it is also easy to find in a handbag cos it feels different in texture.

Started looking recently in various places (TKMaxx, debs, etc) and they are all vast - like mini clutch bags almost.

I just want one that contains 8/10 cards, some coins and which is small enough to bung in a back pocket if I don't have a bag with me. Pref leather, fairly plain.

Holy Grail??

Ted baker ones are loveley and come in small or large.

Lots of nice colours to choose from and are real leather.

Stocked in John Lewis, house of fraser, or if you are near bicester, they are discounted in bicester village.

There are also some lovely ones in the Michael kors shop there too.

suebfg · 21/06/2013 20:38

There are some nice ones on Ebay

Allthingspretty · 21/06/2013 20:38

I triwd a large purse last year. I could not get away with it. Try Radley

thenightsky · 21/06/2013 20:51

I ended up with a Next one. I call it my 'housekeeping purse' in memory of my granny who called hers that.

Chottie · 21/06/2013 21:10

Another vote for Ted Baker, half price in Bicester if you are near there. And gorgeous colours too.

TheReverseStitch · 21/06/2013 21:15

I have a massive Nica one, needs to fit bank cards, loyalty cards like Boots Advantage and Nectar, vouchers and coupons ready to use, loyalty cards to various local soft play centres, books of stamps, drivers licence, library cards for DC and I etc. It is massive really, I hate purse shopping because it is so hard to find the right one.

JazzDalek · 21/06/2013 21:21

I have a lovely leather one from Seasalt that fits your criteria perfectly. But they don't seem to do them any more.

The one I use most is pretty big, though. I love it even though it just ends up stuffed with old receipts

Talisin · 22/06/2013 00:03

Have you considered looking at mens wallets? I've been using them for years and find them much better than purses.

browneyedpixie · 22/06/2013 06:54

i love my ted baker

EliotNess · 22/06/2013 06:58

I can't imagine sticking mine in any pocket sassy. For yes it's vast. Rammed with receipts.

DorisShutt · 22/06/2013 07:18

I've just had this exact issue - I've ended up with a Jasper Conran job from Debenhams; and I've actually found it's actually much nicer than the smaller jobs I've had before.

I can actually see all my cards (rather than having a few tucked underneath) and notes are flat rather than scrumpled. It's also slimmer so actually easier to carry in my hand when I take it out to pay.

I've also bought a cheaper small purse with about 2 card slots for sticking in a small bag if I'm going out in the evening and won't need DS's library card, nectar card, Boots card and all the rest!

Nagoo · 22/06/2013 11:46

I have a coin purse and separate card wallet from radley. I like it much better separately.

Vibbe · 22/06/2013 12:11

Might be worth having a look at men's wallets :)

I used to have a perfect wallet from Mulberry. Space for 8 or so cards, loads of space for notes and receipts and a zipped compartment for coins. Was the size of a classic men's wallet - so would probably fit into a back pocket. Unfortunately, the quality of the zip was terrible and I was refunded.

Now I have a huge purse from Love Moschino. Massive zipped compartment for coins, space for 16 or so cards, loads of space for notes and receipts. It does have a massive metal decoration of two cows on the front, so it's heavy and big, even when empty. But it's very cute.

happyreindeer · 22/06/2013 12:25

I love my Cath Kidston coin purse.

sassytheFIRST · 22/06/2013 15:07

Arf.

Have just returned to this thread and seen the unintentional euphemism in your "enormous purses". Tee Hee.

Well, clearly, some of you are somewhat more capacious than me. But mine is felt (furry and tactile?)...

This might be a good punt, although there is no size info and not sure whether or not there's a zip inside:

foxysocks · 22/06/2013 15:26

i used to have a small one from dkny (harvey nicks sale about a decade ago!) but it annoyed me as it was too small, so have just upgraded to a mulberry (from the shepton factory shop) and it's a much better size for me.

hugoagogo · 22/06/2013 18:42

I hate big purses- what about this? saddler one

EarlyInTheMorning · 22/06/2013 19:13

My next purse will be a Fossil one

HedgeHogGroup · 22/06/2013 19:19

I have a beautiful (large) purse from Fossil. Its got a handle on it too so I can carry it as a small bag if I don't need to take anything else with me this

Sticklebricks · 22/06/2013 19:53

I hear you, sister. I wanted the same - fed up of huge purses with their accumulation of crap. You want small and simple but not some bloody fairy purse (not a euphemism). Try Kurt geiger. They have a small coin purse with space for cards. And they have a sale on.

sassytheFIRST · 22/06/2013 19:56

Thanks Hugo - have just ordered the saddler. If its not right will try Geiger.

Avoiding dainty fairy purses (Arf) at all costs!

Oh sassy Blush I am beyond touched I hope you like it. Smile

EliotNess · 23/06/2013 19:28

Saddler hasn't enough card spaces
