Off on first hols with our 9mth DS in july to devon! Can't wait! Thinking of capsule wardrobe as car will be full of his gear! Hoping weather will be ok but want a nice jacket to wear with cropped trousers and jeans. Any ideas? I'm 37 and 5ft 7. Smile

I have a biker denim, biker leather jacket (black and cream), thick waterproof winter parka, quilted jacket, blazers and then my fave is my mango khaki parka I can zip out the inside when it's warm.

how about any of those? denim will go well with pretty much anything but not perhaps warm enough when windy?

If I were going my khaki parka would go

thats not very helpful is it? Grin

Better make it something waterproof! Devon is lovely but rather rainy.

5madthings · 24/06/2013 15:37

I got a nice waterproof jacket from fatface. I also got a nice linen jacket from there.

I initially tried on their 'rosey' jacket but didnt like it.

Cant remember the names of the ones i got. Will try and get a link.

I got the linen military jacket and the whinnie jacket, both are on that link.

Having googled i love the mango khaki parka!

there's a cotton biker jacket in the sale on boden, have ordered it, not arrived yet so can't comment on fit, but looks nice, I was also after a think jacket, not long, to wear over tee shirt in this current english summer!

browneyedpixie · 24/06/2013 20:26

I find Devon and Cornwall very changeable (and beautiful) so I say take one light waterproof like mentioned, even primark have some nice ones and then a lovely shorter jacket. fitted ish so you can wear with dresses or Jeans etc

browneyedpixie · 24/06/2013 20:27

that fat face lucy one is nice

OnTheNingNangNong · 24/06/2013 20:29

Are you going to the south or the north? South Devon is usually drier and less windy than the north. I would have waterproof coat and a light weight jacket with zip/buttons. I'm searching for a good one.

That white stuff jacket is nice

gallicgirl · 24/06/2013 23:13

Try any outdoor shop for a waterproof jacket.

PestoSwimissimos · 24/06/2013 23:35

This is also nice...and on sale, though still expensive for a parka. Most sizes still in stock and I think the olive shade is nice and versatile. Plus, it's shower-resistant and has a hood (don't know if it's detachable.)
