Has anyone sucessfully sold a Mulberry on ebay before?

I am trying to sell one of my bags but a bit nervous about selling something of value on ebay.

I just sold a celine bag for £23 on eBay! I have a mulberry and an Alexander wang I want to sell too but definitely not doing it on eBay after that experience!

I even had the till receipt for it!

I can't see the problem, people sell cars on eBay after all. You set a starting bid at whatever you think is reasonable

I sold one and got £160 for it, which was pretty much the same as I bought it for ( many years ago in a Liberty sale). I let it go to auction, didn't have any receipts or anything and had lots of bidders. Good luck.

Can't believe I got the hmm face ! Ooh the cheek ! It was more the receiving money and making sure I get paid etc rather than worrying about what price to put it on at !

I did. For an ugly Mulberry I bought at one of their sample sales when it was very reduced. I just wanted a genuine mulberry! Had a receipt and everything. Take good photos of all identifying parts and might be worth checking the purse forum (mulberry board) for tips.

The first person who bought my bag accused me of selling counterfeit goods and said they were going to open a dispute. I was very upset. I challenged her but told her to return the bag at her cost and I would refund her. She obviously didn't like the bag and had changed her mind. She immediately dropped the accusation and became friendly. It really upset me though! Then I put it on a BIN for more money and it sold within 12 hours!

Don't underestimate postage. The bags tend to be heavy and make sure it is insured for enough in case of loss.

I set a reserve for the first auction by the way.

I have. 3 in fact. I listed everything,every flaw, till receipt, took many photos, link to the purse forum etc etc. Posted recorded delivery - so basically did everything possible to appear genuine (which they were). No problem getting paid and happy with the price.

I have sold a few. Lots of photos and list it as a Buy It Now, rather than an auction. It may take a little longer to sell, but at least you will be happy with the price.

I've sold two, both old bags with broken/missing bits, including an ancient scotchgrain Mulberry, they sold quite well considering. I had serial numbers, dust bags and so on.

I set one with a starting price I'd have been happy to sell at, and another with a buy price (requiring immediate payment).

I haven't sold a Mulberry but have sold a couple of other designer items. I'd just be wary and make sure you send recorded delivery so they cannot dispute they have received the goods.

Yes, my purchaser hinted they thought I had sold counterfeit goods too - I had bought the items 20 years ago from a designer boutique and was selling them as vintage. Thankfully they didn't open a dispute but the experience was a bit stressful - I think they got carried away in the bidding and then regretted it. Interestingly I always list my items at 99p and so far they have always achieved a good price.

Which mulberry is it?

I bought one on eBay (tan leather Phoebe for £200 2 years ago)

Seller took lots of pictures from all different angles, bag had marks and signs of wear - but to me that meant it was more likely to be real. It's definitely a real one though ask also checked on the designer bag forums.

I would also look at posting via a courier service like MyHermes - much cheaper than by Rotal Mail now which will also make your listin more attractive. Check out the eBay forum for more advice on postage

I'd either set a BIN or start your auction at a price you'd be ok to sell at. You pay more to list, but better than risk it going for a song.
Then be vv sure to get the listing right (no spelling mistakes and put it in the right category)
List on a Thursday for 10 days and you get two weekends for people to "find" your bag, more people browse eBay at weekends so better to maximise your chances of more people looking.

My one and only (to date) eBay sale was a Mulberry bag which my DH had bought me and had sat in a drawer for about 5 years (unused because he bought me another, almost identical one).

I got so many e-mails from people asking me for serial numbers and other details - I was quite naive.

In the last hour there was quite a bidding war but no problem.

where's the serial number?

Mine was on the reverse of the disc thing which has the Mulberry logo on.

What bag is it, Magenta? Pm me. I could be interested!

start at the minimum price you are willing to accept, end the auction in an evening, I find Mon or Tues best. Take lots of pictures, add security marks in case they try and return a different item, send fully tracked with online proof of delivery, if you offer collection only take cash.

It is free listing this weekend so I would get the listing live tonight or tomorrow night.

I am looking to sell three bags (2 mulberrys) and I am quite put off by it all. Too many bad news story's.

is there a for sale board on here? there is on another forum i use, might be a better idea to start with that. i've found it easier selling to people i 'know' from chatting to online, also no fees.
