Can't write toooo much but by some weird friends of friends situation I've ended up being invited to a celebrity party in London.. (August) so I can't put names but these are sort of in the press right now people a ton of journos and little old me..

I'm not a london person, city person and haven't a clue what to wear, where to buy from or even how much effort is required as I'm not the one being papped...

I'm working out like a mad women at the moment for my holiday and I'm standard off the rail size 10, short at 5'3 and very luckily I like my body so could do with a few pounds off the tummy that's the one area I don't want to show so the cut out show your abs style isn;t me but I can do legs just above knees and boobs.. and i have curves...

HELP!! where would you start??

I'm not an expert by any means (hopefully they will be along soon, but I would go for something like these:
short grey coast

Karen Millen Sequins

phase eight crush

How much do you want to spend? I think simple, one colour in a sophisticated/interesting shape is better than tight/embellished things that risk looking try hard.
i'd choose
blue biba
whistles navy
v&v navy
belted blue
jaegar navy

wow thank you some great ideas here.. I'm going to start hunting.. I hadn't really got a budget in mind as if I saw a WOW dress I would stretch to it.

frenchfancy spot on I'm a jeans and wellies girl so not into fussy tight and embellished...

Adding about 1K's worth of dresses to my basket but I don;t have enough cash to buy them all to try on - so narrow down I've added the Jager dress as well :-)

Harvey nics just went into further reductions and some amazing reductions on dresses. Be quick though as will probably be gone in next few hours, well the nice ones anyway.

I'm a natural blonder sort of a beach dirty blonde with white bits, shoulder length, light skin so a light tan may help with a small sprinkle of fake but too much looks silly on me and Blue eyes, so the navy selection up thread was spot on.. I'm 38 and young looking (stealth boast warning!)
