recommendations for quality a) watch and b) nightwear

So I am just emerging from horrible 15 months of terrible pregnancy followed by bad PND. Beginning to feel better and trying to overhaul my wardrobe a bit as I'm back at work. Doing quite well on clothes but I have needed a watch for YEARS and still haven't found the right one. Recommendations please? It has to function as classy jewellery as I wear very little jewellery generally (only stud earrings). Years ago I had one that was like a bracelet but can't find anything similar. I'm prepared to pay a lot for the right thing as I'll wear it with everything.

I'd also like recommendations for classy nightwear as my night clothes are a bit of a post-pregnancy disgrace and I think overhauling them would cheer up both me and DH. Expensive OK as only upside of the appalling pregnancy was that I was too ill all the way through to spend any money.

I have a lovely radley watch with a dangly radley dog attached. It has the perfect amount of sparkle for me and looks like a lovely bracelet I think. DH got it me for my birthday so not sure on exact price but I explicitly stated NOT expensive when requesting a watch as a gift so I would guess under £100.

If you want something classic, how about Longines Dolce Vita or Baume & Mercier Hampton? I have the former but wish I had paid the extra for the latter. My Longines watch is about 6 years old and, despite being worn daily, still looks new. God knows how, but anyway.

Toast do lovely night wear. They have a 1930's inspired night gown at the mo which is lovely, though £££. Sale is due to start in a few weeks I think.

What about going for a lovely vintage Art Deco watch? I'm suggesting all the things I wish I could buy ;)

Thanks tweet. Art Deco watch is a great idea actually. I've just always been a bit nervous about buying a watch at auction or something in case it doesn't work and can't be mended. Where would you look for a vintage watch?

Great recommendation for the Toast nightwear thank you. That gown is really lovely! And some of the pyjamas are very tempting too.

Thanks for the good wishes. Recovery from the PND is frustratingly slow but things are going in the right direction at least.

My husband bought me a Tag Heuer watch and it is great. It's a classic piece and whilst expensive it is functional and not in your face as such. I only wear earrings and my rings plus watch.

I don't bother taking it off whilst swimming/constant washing up etc and I am very outdoorsy yet it has withstood all of that with ease.

You can get vintage watches from jewellery shops which include a guarantee etc. Depends where u r based but most large cities have a jewellery quarter. Edinburgh and London have some great shops. Only thing is that u would probably need to take off if in gym, house work etc. However could become a heirloom piece to pass down the generations if kept well. I'm so excited about your potential purchases

I was given the diamond Tissot 'Lovely' watch by my parents. Crap name, gorgeous watch here.

I love my michael Kors watch but it's quite big. It tends to get a mixed reaction. Bit of a marmite watch.

I quite like this Gucci bracelet watch, it's nice and simple.

Can't really help with nightwear as I either wear nothing or cheap Tesco jimjams around the house (picture of loveliness, me)

A friend just got this and it's lovely.

I just got a lovely fresh white cotton nightie and lovely dressing gown from (hangs head in shame) Per Una. But it is lovely - like White Company bt half the price.

john lewis have a good selection of watches.

Nightwear, I rely on good old m&s or boux avenue.

Skagen watches are lovely (QVC sometimes do models you don't find in the shops) - I would have a different one for every day of the week if I could
