What do you wear in summer?

Ive been living in the south of France for two years now and struggle with summer clothes.

I feel like I look somewhat together and semi stylish in winter and seem to have an 'everything looks better with a blazer rule'.

Its now too hot for a blazer and I just dont know what to wear!

With the sales coming up i'm hoping to make a summer capsule wardrobe. So what are your staples?

Im not into maxi dresses or linen trousers, I am 26, size 11 and my budget stretches to Mango, Zara, Massimo Dutti etc.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Today, with 32 degrees, I've been happy in jeans and a tee.

If it gets hotter or I need to dress up a bit, it's usually trousers (cotton, linen or a mix of the two). With either a tee, a peasant type of top or a shirt either made with thin cotton or silk.
Maxi dresses or maxi skirts. 50's style skirts and dresses.

For me, it's all about the materials - silk, cotton and linen are easier to keep cool in than polyester and so on.
And layers - I'll wear a cardigan (and maybe a nice light scarf) if it's cool in the morning or evening, and take it off during the day.

Thanks for the reply.

It was only 29 here today and I felt like I was melting all day! I think it may take me a few years to get used to the heat!

You are right about the materials, I am trying to only buy cotton and silk items now.
