Has anyone ever used hair dye reducer?

Does it wreck your hair? This might be odd and I probably need a stern talking to, but I was wondering if I should use it to see how grey I actually am under the years of dye.

I have awful grey 'wings' which need covering at least once a month and they are getting steadily whiter, so I am guessing I have loads of grey all over, if this is the case I would rather use a much lighter colour so that it blends in more. I currently use a dark brown colour. Am I mad to consider it?

Do you mean the stuff that strips your hair of all the layers of dye? I've used it, my hair is naturally dark brown but very grey and so I have to colour it every 3 weeks, been doing this for YEARS! All the build up of dye meant in the end my hair was totally uneven so I used one. It's very time consuming rinsing it out, it smells foul and is a PITA but it did work! My hair was a bright orange colour until i rinsed it, once rinsed TONS of grey but I could start again from scratch. I now use the semi permanent colours so I don't have build up, as I have to touch up every 3 weeks anyway! Good luck if you do it, read the instructions thoroughly and rinse for about 20 mins!

Thanks, I am a bit scared but I will probably give it a go. The last time my hair wasn't dyed was when I had my second DS 7 yrs. ago and there was loads of grey in it then. I am probably white by now Grin

Make sure you have loads of time! I used the B4 colour remover extra strength. Good luck!
