This is it - I am officially old.
Went to buy myself new trainers (not sport, just casual) for the first time in about 5 years.
The only ones I liked were these Nike suede high tops.

Now you can't see on the pics but the foam is showing at the top of the tongue - like someone cut an old sponge!
I said to the shop assistant why is it broken???
They looked at me like I was mental. Apparently it's fashionable. People don't want things to look new. I kind of get that but it seems an excuse to get away with shoddy quality? I'm really annoyed cos they are expensive!
AIBU to want new things to be properly made?!
