What are your two keys to feeling good about yourself?

I realised today that the two things I need are good jeans and a good haircut.

Today I have neither, and feel like staying in!

(I am starting to think skinny jeans are a curse: if I feel fat in them at 5'8" and size 10, then clearly they flatter hardly anyone. And straight jeans are the holy grail in the shops right now...)

Exercise (the best way to lift my mood) and eating well (=enough, well-prepared and delicious food).

OP, skinnies not great on me either, I'm 5'8'' and a slim Sz 10-12 and feel extremely pear-shaped and heavy-hipped in skinnies. I find some outfits make me much more self-conscious than others. It's all about the right proportions.

Good skin.
I've suffered with moderate acne for over 15 years now. I'm currently taking meds which help it, and have recently gone out without a scrap of make-up on (not for long, mind!). I love the 'no-make-up' look but most of the time it's not a possibility for me. If my skin is good I feel amazing.

Same with exercise. A person who is toned looks good in almost anything.

Actually, making the policy decision that skinnies Weren't For Me has saved me a hell of a lot of misery. See also, miniskirts, leggings and fake tan.

Oh and good underwear. I can be wearing my favourite outfit and have spent ages on hair and make up but if my underwear is crap I feel crap. Oh and tidy eyebrows.

Exercise - proper lung busting, muscle burning, hurty exercise

Shoes that fit properly. I have horrid feet and struggle to find shoes that fit well. Having comfortable feet (not comfortable shoes, ick) makes a huge difference to me.
