Oh stylish ones - can you help me style this dress?

Have just bought this beauty.

It's plain, as I want to get lots of wear out of it - my thinking is that I'll be able to make it look quite different with wise use of accessories...the only problem being I'm not that confident at styling things Confused.

Would anyone be able to help me style it for a summer wedding? It's a fairly formal affair so I was thinking maybe bright strappy shoes (not too high though) and clutch bag. What colour would you advise? What about jewellery?

Basically - HELP ME!

Thank you in advance, oh stylish ones Grin

I have that dress for work, I wear it with nude heels. They do suggest a necklace to go with it.

TheRealFellatio · 16/06/2013 16:17

Oh that is gorgeous. I am wel jel. Grin

You could wear lovely patent nude courts with a bit of a platform? Pearls? It's quite a difficult neckline to pick a necklace for. Maybe you should forgo a necklace and have really eyecatching earrings, or a hat instead. Dare to be plain - the dress demands it I think.

I would probably choose cream/beige shoes and bag, but the dress is pretty versatile so if you find a wild colour you love go with it! Yellow might be nice. Grin

TheRealFellatio · 16/06/2013 16:34

this is nice.

TheRealFellatio · 16/06/2013 16:36

This would be perfect but I'm not sure it's quite long enough - it might get lost in the high neckline.

Arisbottle · 16/06/2013 16:36

I have a very simple pearl necklace that I sometimes wear with it.

I like navy and red together so have tried red shoes with it, but they overshadow the dress . So I wear it with my ubiquitous LK Bennett nude pumps which I was wearing long before she was.

TheRealFellatio · 16/06/2013 16:37

nice

TheRealFellatio · 16/06/2013 16:37

I know what kind of necklace I want to show you but I can't find it. Confused

Arisbottle · 16/06/2013 16:43

The necklace I wear with it is a classic three strand one with a clasp. Is suspect you want something a bit more showy.

[http://www.lyst.com/jewelry/jaeger-pearl-cluster-bib-necklace-light-pink/ is this too much]]. I have one like it which I wear - also to work!

Arisbottle · 16/06/2013 16:45

link again

It may be the same necklace as on here I have this dress too for work! I am addicted

TheRealFellatio · 16/06/2013 16:49

these are lovely, and not too high.

StringBeanJean · 16/06/2013 17:01

Ooh thanks all for your replies!

Arisbottle, great tip about the red shoes overpowering the dress, I had thought a bright colour might go but I think you're spot on there, thanks!

I hadn't thought about nude shoes, but you're all right that I should probably keep things simple in keeping with the dress. Although those shoes you link to are also lovely daftdame, I may just pop into town and try them on next week.

Love the necklaces too - I can see what you mean realfellatio, if I could find one that sits just on the neckline that would probably work really well. A bit of bling might jazz it up nicely Smile

Thank you all so much for your help, I really appreciate it. Must drag thoughts away from shopping and get on with refereeing tea time! Grin

A bright clutch will liven things up and perhaps think about a different colour belt, if it "works" with the gathered structure.

I would go with - several heavy ropes of pearls around the neck; bright clutch; nude shoes.
