I'd probably wear a dress! and maybe heels?

scarlet76 · 16/06/2013 14:39

Firstly, I hope you have fun!
I would wear what you feel most comfortable in and what you feel good in.
As it's lunch, I'd think about maybe some cigarette style trouser, top and sling back heels?

Moknicker · 16/06/2013 14:48

What sort of 48 is he? Likes/dislikes? What does he do?

He's gorgeous, seems very keen, into sailing but not sailing look, don't think he'll mind what I wear! But I mind!

Ooh how exciting! I reckon wear a dress, but not a flowery or overly busy one, and glam but not slutty. Not black either, too boring and obvious. And don't wear ridiculous heels that you can't walk in (speaking from bitter experience.)

a souwester

Surely it depends a little on the venue? Smart restaurant or casual pub?

You need to consider that as much as anything.

I don't think his age is relevant really. My DH is much older than 48, and he wouldn't object to any of your suggestions- a dress, smart jeans or skinny trousers etc.

Wear what you feel comfortable in, something not too fussy and don't look as if you have made an enormous effort- look nice but not like a dog's dinner as it can be intimidating.

I think heels for a daytime meeting- lunch- could seem a little OTT- but depends what you wear them with and how high! Kitten heel or block heels fine- but not stilletos.

I'd also suggest looking on the demure side rather than full on cleavage is better simply as it's lunch and a first date.

How exciting. YY to what you feel most comfortable/confident/you in.
If you feel as good in both the jeans and the dress combos, I think I'd go with the dress. And also YY to not too much flesh on show, esp cleavage.

Good luck. Hope he's as lovely on the inside as he looks on the out.

Thanks so much! Think I will go with dress and wedges if sunny and skinny black jeans with wedges and non cleavage but still sexy short sleeved jumper....eeek! Now just got 13 sleeps to wait! Thanks so much!

A dress in the summer is always good. Feminine, smart. As for cleavage, if you have it, show a bit, good luck!
