Tights to wear with peep-toe shoes

I'm going to a wedding next weekend. After advice from S&B, I have been exfoliating and moisturising my hideous legs for the last 4 weeks. Unfortunately, it has made little improvement and I now have a lovely collection of bruises which are not helping the situation.

I really don't think I can have my bare legs on display (I know everyone will be looking at the bride and not my legs but still...) so I'm wondering which tights are going to be suitable.

Any recommendations?

What colour are the dress and shoes you're planning to wear?

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 15/06/2013 21:41

This is the dress and the shoes are grey satin-like. I also have a shrug in the same colour as the shoes. Hope I haven't made a fashion faux-pas!!

These micronets might be okay with peep toe shoes. Micronets generally are exceptionally flattering, comfortable in hot weather and give you good skin coverage (despite the holes!)

'Normal' tights with peep toes are just wrong, sorry.

You could maybe try some Wolford tights in Anthracite? I can also see it working with some parrot green tights, but that's probably a bit lairy for a wedding.

Cross-posted with emsy - those micronets come in anthracite, I think they'd look good.

As it's summer, I think it would be best with thin skin coloured tights.

You can get open toed ones. I've used them a couple of times, and it's been fine. They look like this: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_081010737283_-1 and www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_081010421469_-1 (they are available in other shades)

Sorry I think those weird open-toed tight things are the fugliest things ever! My mum bought a pair for her holidays when she was heading towards 70... They make me shudder.

I remember wearing some tights with a bit of fabric which goes between your big and second toe, but your toes are otherwise bare.

Or you can get sheer tights with a sandal toe, not the reinforced toe

or nude/beige lace / fishnet type tights

How about Sally Hansen spray on stuff, covers up everything, a bit like foundation for legs?

Vibbe · 15/06/2013 22:39

Haha, they are ugly, but they work when the shoes are on.
There are also thin nude tights without the reinforced toe and seam - I only know of Wolford who do those, and they are quite expensive.

To be fair, I wouldn't go for dark grey tights during summer. For winter, yes - but not summer.
Fishnets do tend to look messy with peep toes, so I'd stay clear of that.

cerealqueen · 15/06/2013 22:39

Vibbe has them!

sally hansen stuff

plannedshock · 15/06/2013 22:39

Am in agreement of the Sally hansen spray on tights-foundation for legs. Good stuff.

BramblyHedge · 15/06/2013 22:40

M and s do the tights with the bit between the toes.

cerealqueen · 15/06/2013 22:43

like this I used to wear these type with peep toe in grey all the time and was always complimented on them!

Lovely dress btw.
