Joint bigger than finger. How do you size?

Just spoken to the guy I work with, who is a jeweller. Because you have to get it over the joint (obs) you have to get it big enough, and it will be loose. Only other way is to have an adjustable ring, but these can be uncomfortable, and a prone to catching on things.

Thank you for asking.
I'm a bit stuck then. Looking for some special jewellery.
Can you tell me who he is? Or PM

Hi Harbinger, You need a ring clip (some people call them ring guards). It's a king of spring that fits to the shank of the ring.

So you get the ring big enough to go over your knuckles and the ring clip adjusts the diameter of the ring so that it fits snugly over the lower part of your finger. Any good jeweller should be able to help you. picture

Many thanks to both of you :)
The problem has now been clarified and I may need to rethink the ring as an idea.
However, I did notice that the ring that I removed from the finger was very squashed. I presume that was why it was staying 'straight'.

Just need a squashed ring.........
