What to wear to killers gig at wembley then drinks after in London somewhere?

We're going to see the killers in wembley next week. After wards were going for drinks somewhere in London.

What do I wear? Don't want to be too dressy for the gig but don't want to be too casual for afterwards. I'm a size 12 with a bit of a mum tum.

I like the rock chick look. Was thinking maybe leggings and dressy top or casual dress & boots. And what if it rains? Got about £100 to spend on full outfit.

Converse, really? I do love converse but will they be ok for after drinks in London?
I've never been to London before and imagined it to be snooty super smart so thought I'd need something dressier.

I would have a gig outfit then change afterwards, definitely.

I'm going too, I'm either wearing a maxi dress or jeans and casual top + flat shoes depending on the weather then I'll get changed to go out after.

Hmmm had wondered about getting changed. God that means sorting 2 outfits. Was thinking about something like these with boots and then changing to heals afterwards?

That would work but you need to factor in either drinks being spilt/thrown, being red hot and sweaty or wet through with rain.

or getting piss thrown over you if you are standing

IME it's hard to come out of a gig looking presentable

Yes, we are standing. Why people can't just piss in a bottle and place it nicely on the floor is beyond me

Looks like I'm shopping for two outfits.

I would wear skinny jeans, top and converse with a blazer/leather jacket/biker jacket, minimal make-up to the gig.

In a bag take
Dressy heels
Killer piece of jewellery (Topshop have some great bits)
Fresh top (simple scoop neck linen T from Cos maybe)
Bastisse dry shampoo to fix your hair with. Can you work an up do? Like a messy bun?
Wet wipes, make-up, deodorant,

Have just looked at your dress choices, I think we have ver different tastes so you might not like my ideas

Do you know where you are going out after the concert? It will take 20/30 minutes to get from Wembley to central London so you might not get there until around 11pm at the earliest.

London is really casual and no one will bat an eye at what you are wearing so unless you are going to a private members club or hanging out with footballers then whatever you wear for the club will be fine. Brush your hair and stick some lipstick on in the loo if you want to make an effort.

Agree with nilby. But see what the weather is like on day wrt jackets. Nothing worse than carrying a jacket round.

Are you staying in a hotel? That would make life a lot easier!

I agree about the piss throwing, normal human behavior seems to disappear at gigs

Wembley stadium or Arena?

I've never known piss thrown at an indoor arena but then I've always stood nearer the back where people don't seem to do it.

If you think that piss soaking is likely then change. You still don't need to be dressy though.

Where are you going for drinks afterwards? Most normal pubs will be closed and many clubs/late bars will have a dress code so that would make converse a bad idea.

Nilby, I like both your choices thank you! I was thinking of wearing the second dress with calf length biker boots and a leather jacket if its damp/cold. I was hoping for glorious sun so would be ruling out skinny jeans on the basis of being too hot. Already decided that hair will be 'up'

We are indeed staying in a hotel, so changing wont be a problem. Either Ealing or Richmond. I'm surprised that the bars are casual, I really expected full on glamour, it's quite a relief actually.

Agree with Aphra. The last time I went out in a dress and heels was to a wedding outside of London.

Bars in Richmond might have a few slightly more dressy people in them, but there will still be a mix of dressy and casual.

It's actually annoying... I have loads of pairs of heels and never go anywhere to wear them!

Have nothing terribly helpful to add but am v v that you are going to a Killers gig.

When I went about 6 years ago I wore jeans and a long length top and was very hot in February but luckily I didn't get covered in piss and am glad I didn't know about that at the time.

Sorry if teaching to suck eggs but you know that Ealing or Richmond are possibly the furthest you can get from Wembley and may be a pig to get back to late at night? Can't you stay somewhere more central/north

Been shops today and got a zebra print sun dress which I may wear, still undecided!

There is a fairly new holiday inn next to the stadium, and an ok premier inn down the bottom of the hill by the Wembley Park station. Richmond is proper faff to get to from there, you have to go into London and back out again

OMG am really shocked about 'the you know what' throwing. Don't go to gigs any more. Did see Gary Barlow in Liverpool in January but it was full of Boden mummies(like me) and we all queued for the loo at half time!

Noones going to be looking at you at a gig. I think your leggings and boots thing sounds perfect.

do you need to dress up specially for drinks after? cant you just go in the same stuff, or are you going somewhere posh?

and unless youre actually in the mosh pit, i dont see why youd get particularly dishevelled?
