I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and want to do something different with my hair. Trouble is I'm not great at doing hair!
My hair is very fine, a few inches below shoulder length. Nothing too fussy. No idea what to do.....
Was maybe thinking some kind of lose one sided bun thing but not sure how and also don't think I'm that symmetrical and this might emphasise that Grin

What do you do that looks good and is easy to do?

Have a look on YouTube - enter something like 'easy up do' and you'll get ideas & a video tutorial :)

Gibson roll is my default, looks great and very quick:

If you like you can put clips or flowers etc in the hole bit.

If you master that you can try doing it like this too:

Whiter, that's a lovely style and easy tutorial. Thanks for the link :)

Also, I've used the LuxyHair tutorials (you can see them from Whiter's link); some are fairly easy to do and look great.

Thanks Molotov I love Luxy too but find that they're more suited for going out as you often have to curl your hair first to get the full effect.

Give yourself a ponytail. Then use one finger to push a hole through the back of it (ie between your head and the band) from the top and coming out of the bottom but to one side (if the back of your head was a clock at 4o'clock). Pick up the ponytail with other hand and remaining fingers and shove it through the hole. Pull tightish. Repeat process again and pin in any loose ends. End result casual up do. Literally takes 5 mins. I would suggest wash hair tonight so not too clean/flyaway tomorrow.

Whiter my hair is naturally curly frizzy which explains a lot! Grin

Thank you for the great suggestions, I've just tried a couple and I'm not too sure. I'm off to trail YouTube but does anyone have any other suggestions? I can prob rope dh in to help me in the morning if its a little trickier!

What are you not sure about, that might help us more in the right direction?

Chunkamatic · 13/06/2013 20:36

iseenodust I'm trying to imagine what that looks like?! Have you any pics you could link to, or does it ave a name that I could google?

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 13/06/2013 21:09

I want to try that too please. Do you push the hair from the bottom up through the hole or from the top down please?

iseenodust · 14/06/2013 15:11

Push the through from top down. So after first go still looks like ponytail but flatter to neck. After 2 goes and a tidy if done to side looks like smooth roll. I'll see if can sort pic of end result.

iseenodust · 14/06/2013 15:17

Picture 9 shows after first go. I suggested to OP do it twice because she has same length hair as me which then just tucks away (shorter than in the picture).

Jelloonsprings · 14/06/2013 15:18

beehive and the video is funny too...

mrsbigchin · 14/06/2013 20:41

Jelloonsprings, she is hilarious. I love her. thanks!

I've done this messy side bun before - it's really quick and easy but looks fab.
