Please help me decide whether or not to give my hair the chop!

My hair is a few inches past bra strap length and I'm considering cutting it to roughly shoulder length. I've actually been considering it for well over 18 months Blush but the situation is complicated by the fact that it's naturally curly/wavy and I wear it like that sometimes, but other times I straighten it, so any style needs to look good both curly and straight.

I'm considering something like this but when you have really long hair it's quite scary getting lots cut off. I like the way it tickles my elbows when I have short sleeves on Grin but hate the way it gets trapped behind my back when I'm sat down, and I find I'm getting increasingly irritated by it. I just not want to wake up the next morning regretting it though. What to do?!

Has anyone with curly hair done similar, and if so, are you glad you did it?

I've just had my bra-strap-length hair cut off to a chin-length graduated bob and I love it. I feel absolutely weightless and it takes 5 minutes to blow dry and tuck under. I have frizzy wavy hair so I go over with straighteners for sleekness.
I hated how my long hair kept getting trapped in the handle of my bag, so annoying.
I like the length you've linked to, I don't think you'll regret it. See Kimberley from Girls Aloud recent style too, it's quite similar. Really nice.
