Need a new outfit for Summer fetes etc ? help

I am a petite in height but have put the weight on over the years, looking at a good size 12. I don't really like my legs and they have suffered badly carrying extra weight with pregnancy.

I need a nice outfit that will be suitable for summer fetes etc. my dh has asked if we can attend the school fetes for his school (as he is new himself to school). I need therefore to create the right impression.

Don't have a lot of spare cash either, so can't afford the prices that Boden etc. charge. Any good website that might suit a petite height person, don't want to look frumpy but don't want to look too casual like I haven't tried and ideally need something that looks expensive (as these parents are the best and will be looking at what I am wearing and commenting)

Any tips please

There are fantastic dress bargains to be had on ebay. Then get it hemmed / altered.

You don't need to worry about looking smart for a school fete. People don't generally dress up. I always wore jeans and so did most parents.

ditto on what bunbaker said.
