What colour shoes with a red dress?

I'm wearing a red dress to a wedding and am having difficulty deciding which shoes to get.

What colour would look best? A gold or silver? Or something totally different

Then a full shoe or a sandal?

The dress is just above knee length :-)

Concur - nude/tan would look most elegant. If it's a summer wedding/outfit, then I think a sandal/slingback.

And I concur with the sandal/slingback suggestion :o
