Mac used to be the make up brand to buy in US. Otherwise fitness gear - trainers etc. where's he going?

Lemonytrees · 08/06/2013 16:56

Dh is there at the moment. I've been looking on the macys website to get an idea about prices, but tbh nothing is that much cheaper. He used to buy me benefit cosmetics, but there's not that much price difference now.
DC want difference flavour oreos. Converse are a bit cheaper but not that much. Keen to hear any other suggestions

Different flavoured m&ms

Levi's

Bath and body works

iPad

Diamonds

Sorted.

I found converse were much cheaper.

Definitely Levis.

Shops seem to be big into doing coupons and codes so for example if you go to the GAP US site it is practically always 20-30% off everything including sale items.

Stores like Macy's do shopping passes were you get 20% off for the day on most things except designer items (like Louis Vuitton).

Kiehls products, their skincare products are excellent, much cheaper in us and do bigger bottles there. V good men's skincare too.

If you like Saltwater sandals (they sell them at Toast) get a pair in the USA - am on a work trip in the US at the mo and just discovered they are $42 with postage in the USA and £49 without postage in the UK. Could hardly stop myself buying multiple pairs. Available on this website and through amazon.com too.

Tell your DH to go to Walgreens / CVS / Rite Aid/ Duane Reade or Target, or even walmart and get huge bottles of 500 aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen. You can also pick really high spf sunscreen and store brand sunscreen that is really good for far less than even the big brands. Vitamins and supplements are available in huge sizes too and can sometimes be very cheap, if he looks in a Sunday newspaper or picks up a shop ad leaflet in the doorway (or ask at the customer service desk for one). I think Macys does visitors' discount cards or coupons if you ask.

This isn't really the season but snowbibs for children and adults are a lot cheaper, same for good quality snowboots.

If in NYC look at Century 21 shops if rummaging is your style of shopping. locations. Look for things like sunglasses, belts, bags, shoes, designer jeans.

Local brands of barbeque sauce from pretty much anywhere.

Steer clear of Open Pit. It is made in New Jersey.

Sports equipment can be much cheaper in the US - tennis and badminton racquets for instance, and protective gear. Also blank CDs and disposable contact lenses.
