Bikini for pear shaped, short 40 year old!

I've been hiding in tankinis since having dc but years on, have now decided that my stomach is reasonable again and one of my better bits so it shall be allowed out again!
I've got stocky legs although not especially short, smallish bust and wide saddlebag hips and thighs (selling myself here aren't I?)

I'm after something with high leg full ish briefs and not boy shorts which look awful pain me and a bit of padding in the bikini top. Any ideas?

Anyone? Or has my gross description of myself made you think I just shouldn't wear a bikini.

Incidentally I'm a size 10/12 on the bottom and 8/10 on top.

Sainsburys have high leg bottoms and padded tops which might be worth a look?

FauxFox · 07/06/2013 22:17

coral bottom and top
black bottoms and top
floral bottom and top
New look have a great selection this year, have a browse on the website.

Thanks I will take a look online.
I forgot to mention that the bottoms need to be unskimpy so they cover my lower tummy as well as high leg! Any more suggestions and links would be great

Faux, those are nice but the bottoms are way too skimpy for me and I'd feel too naked! I think they'd make my pear shape look worse.

Bottoms like these? or these?

summerplease · 07/06/2013 22:31

I like those more but they look pretty low leg. Maybe I'm asking the impossible though! Hope not.

red
blue
print
or maybe consider a suit with cutaways?
stripe
coral

summerplease · 07/06/2013 23:04

That red one looks perfect!

as a similar shape to you summerplease (and 40 too) I really like Boden swimwear and Fantasie (bought from House of Fraser). I find them a bit more supportive and flattering on my older (sob) self.

Faux's red ones are described as low rise and hipster but they look ok - what does anyone think.
Other ideas still welcome!
