Colour experts! How do you tell the difference between ice colours and pastels?

Are ice colours just very pale pastels? Or is there a difference tone I am unable to detect? Most colours in the shops seem to be pastels to me, but I'm not sure I'm diagnosing them right! I think I need a swatch of pastels to compare with my ice colours :)

I'm an icy pastel person too. I admit I've fallen back on Kettlewell for these colours. They are very very pale I think and not warm at all iyswim :)

I haven't gone for any kettlewell clothes because they're not my style, but great colours. I might study their catalogue to get the hang of the icy colours though!
