No idea about bags. Clutch for daytime?

Do people carry clutch bags in the daytime? Smart casual lunch event happening and I have no idea if that's OK. Do you match the clutch to your dress or go for a clash?

Clutch wil be fine - I like mine to make a statement but neutral eg nude, charcoal works well during the day I think.
