American clothes are just better than in the UK

I've just got back from holidaying in the US and have come back feeling like I'll have to return there the next time I want to buy clothes! I preferred the styles and the clothes just fit me in a way that clothes here never do! The trousers sit on my hips perfectly, here (UK) trousers are either a bit tight (giving a bit of muffin top) or too loose AND all the shops seemed to offer free alterations. I am tall so don't need to have trousers taken up ever, but I did notice that the hem of the trousers I bought, were a good couple of inches whereas the hems here are closer to 1cm.

Playing devils advocate, I am now broke as I hardly ever buy clothes in the UK....
