Anyone good with matching red to other colours?

I'm off to an event at a cathedral this summer and I have a couple of dresses in mind, but I was wondering what the hive mind thought of this (although some may say red = bit slutty for church, I say liturgically appropriate) My real dilemma is shoes: don't want to go Kate Middleton nude heels as that isn't my scene, don't fancy black as it'll be high summer.

I wondered either grey but maybe a bit eighties? or orange but maybe a bit too shouty bright? I do have a pair of bronze heels, but I worry that they might be a bit eveningy for the middle of the day? Any thoughts on the colour combo? M&S do the orange heels as a high sandal...?

I team red with mustard yellow.

I do actually like the idea of red and orange but perhaps not the orange you've linked to.

the grey option would be fine, and good I think.

I love red and blush pink, personally, but a purplish/strong cool pink could look great too.

You guys! Thanks so much - I love the colour of the ebay ones Sunday, though not sure about the suede...and travelin LOVE the Clarkes' ones, but not in my size. Though the pinky orange ones are - might be worth a try on - the pattern is banging. I think the sandals, though nice, are a bit too dressed down.

what about yellow? or more yellow or orange also maybe the bright blue in the last one I wondered about as an option - the yellow is out of my size unfort.

Any thoughts?
