Bare legs and sandals v. Tights and ballet pump????

I am going to a wedding next weekend. My legs have not been "out" this year. The sandals are wedges and match the dress. The shoes are nude, very sweet but dead flat and I am 5'2". Do I get some tights that have open toes or do they just look ridiculous with sandals? Wear tights and shoes and risk being called shorty all day? Or get someone to put fake tan on my legs (but then my arms will look white)? Or buy another pair of shoes which I will never wear again but at least have a heel? MNetters - I really need your help - thanks x

Why don't you buy some Holiday Skin or similar and start moisturising your legs with it? It's a pretty subtle colour, and should do the job.

I would wear the wedges with bare legs and fake tan. Amber Solaire do a fantastic spray on one that is foolproof. It drys in seconds and develops over a couple of hours. Exfoliate your arms and legs first and then use the tan.
Or go get a professional tan.

Are the wedges peep-toe or you know, strappy? Because if they're peep-toe I'd go for these Pretty Polly Naturals in Barely There- I get the sandal toe ones for work and they really don't look "tighty" at all.

If they're strappy and don't have much "coverage" around the bottom of the foot then go for tights with the flats. Or get a full body spray tan.

I tried toeless tights from mytights and they worked a treat, think they were about 7 denier (just looked but no label in them). They give your legs a very subtle covering (like any really sheer hosiery) so the bare toes don't look odd. Great for peepholes.
You'll definitely find some form of hosiery that works with sandals, as someone says sandal toe do work too, I borrowed some the other week and was really surprised how hard it is to see your wearing tights. Wear a subtle colour on your toenails as well as anything bold will draw people to your feet!
