Crest Whitestrips - where from and which ones?

I've used these before and liked them but there now seem to be zillions of different types... Also I'm sure I bought from eBay (but from a supplier rather than a person) but no recollection of who.

Help (thanks)

Bump

Has anyone used them?

I thought they were illegal in the UK? Presumably for a good reason?

I could be wrong though.

tartiflette · 03/06/2013 15:43

They're definitely available online here, I've used them before - I think the formula is milder than the US version. I just can't remember which ones I used.

I bought some from my local Boots so they must be legal now.

SingingSilver · 03/06/2013 16:48

The stronger ones can be bought from eBay and sent over from the States. I don't know if the stronger whitening products being banned here is for a good reason, I think it's more so you have to pay your dentist to provide you with the stronger whiteners.

Yes, protectionism is alive and well here Hmm stronger whitening products are banned in Europe. This is enforced in the UK by trading standards.

I noticed a slight difference. I can't remember how much they were but they weren't good enough to invest more than say £10 in.

McBalls · 03/06/2013 21:29

They sell them in boots?? Are you sure?

McBalls · 03/06/2013 21:37

Tartiflette, I've used the intensive professional and the supreme. Both excellent and even though the supreme are apparently much stronger I didn't notice that they were better than the intensive professional.

Just look for at the ratings for eBay sellers, it's obvious which ones are longstanding and offering a good service.

tartiflette · 03/06/2013 22:51

Ok marvellous, thanks McBalls.

I always get mine from Amazon or eBay - the advanced range (I don't think there is much difference between them apart from the amount of applications tbh) I pay about £28 for a 14 day box. I think they work really well and recommend them to everyone above professional, expensive whitening.

The whitening ingredient is hydrogen peroxide which is only legal for sale in a much smaller quantity in the UK compared to the US. I don't really know the rhyme or reason why though, I wouldn't think it's 'dangerous' per se - I hope not anyway I've been using them for years! Smile

Oh, sorry I've misled you. The product I bought was called "Rapid White Strips". The crest ones are probably more powerful.

louwn · 04/06/2013 23:42

I used the rapid white ones fron boots - no difference whatsoever, complete waste of money! Ordered crest professional effects ones from ebay you wear for half an hour a day and they're much better. Have made my teeth slightly sensitive but resolved with colgate sensitive pro-relief toothpaste.
