Have holiday coming up, need good sunscreen as use glycolic acid to keep awful chin breakouts minimised, but any cream or moisturisers in that area make me break out, any one found a brand that is better?

Not Anthelios!

City Block spf40 is oil free and didn't break me out.

Potteresque97 · 02/06/2013 13:19

Oh thanks for that, was going to look into anthelios!

I've got very oily skin and dermalogica skin Matt SPF 20 works well for me.

My daughter saw a dermatologist and she recommended Vichy Dry Touch Mattifying Fluide and Avene SPF 50 emulsion.

I have the same problem. City Block gives me spots. Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturiser is good, and what I use on not too sunny days in the UK, but it's only SPF20 so no good for sunny holidays. Strangely the best / least breakout-inducing sunscreen that I've found so far is Neutrogena Kids mousse, but it's still not perfect. Sali Hughes did a piece on facial sunscreens recently - I'll see if I can find the link. I'm going to have to work my way through them - we are about to move to a really hot & sunny climate where I'll need sunscreen every day, so I'm desperate to find one that doesn't cause breakouts.

Sorry, just checked and it's Sudocrem Mousse, not Neutrogena.

Here is the Sali Hughes piece from last month. If you google "Sali Hughes facial sunscreen" quite a few pieces from the last few years come up, with lots of comments which look helpful.

Anthelios is acne neutral on me (many other sunscreens are not). Allergic to Clinique.

Thanks very helpful, this is much better than what I would have done otherwise!

I use Clarins UV Plus spf40. Expensive but lasts ages as you only need a pea-sized amount. I have dry, sensitive, spot prone skin and it causes no problems. Works as a great primer too.

I've used both Alpha H SPF 50 & ultrasun 30 with no problems.
