Is it Fantasie bras that everyone on here loves?

I need a new bra but can't get to the shops so I'm going to order a few from John Lewis, and most of the ones I like seem to be Fantasie ones.

What is there sizing like? I did order one before but it gave me very pointy breasts. Are they all like that? It did fit ok but the shape was odd.

I wear a 32E in Triumph Amourette but don't want another one of those as I don't think it gives very good shape. I usually wear a balcony style bra.

Thanks for any suggestions!

It totally depends on the shape of your breasts as to which bras will work well for you. Personally I don't love Fantasie on me - I get on better with Bravissimo own brand.

I would say the sizing is fairly normal, maybe slightly on the larger side but nothing remarkable.

It' so frustrating not being able to go to a shop!

Do you know what sort of shape your breasts are? It might be worth ordering a selection to try and work out what suits you best - does it have to be a John Lewis order as you could probably get a wider range elsewhere.

LaTrucha · 01/06/2013 17:42

Only because I want to order something else from there.

I wouldn't have the first clue how to describe the shape of my breasts.
They tend to suit a balcony style. Any help?

I used to love fantasie t shirt bras. Bit can't wear them any more as I lost weight and am A back size 28 and they start at 30.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/06/2013 17:48

Have a look here

The panache Idina seems to be pretty well regarded as is the Cleo Juna. I also like the Betsy Bow and the Alana, and it might also be worth trying Meg/Zia which are fairly similar to each other. The other one to consider would be the Boudoir Beau.

Reason I suggest these ones is it covers a few different cuts/shapes - they absolutely won't all suit you but hopefully one of them will!

Latrucha I usually wear the triumph Amourette, but wanted to get a better shape. I spent hours in John Lewis this weekend eventually got a bra which fits really well.

It's another triumph and its the 'soft cup with stretch'. I'm a 32 DD and it gives a lovely rounded kind of shape and a good bit of lift. It's incredibly comfy too.

I do gt fed up though as I want some 'pretty' bras but the only ones which seem to fit are pretty boring.

LaTrucha · 01/06/2013 17:56

Is it this one?

Will look at Bravissimo. Thanks.

fantasie elodie is my most comfy bra by far. am a 32e too.

thenightsky · 01/06/2013 18:06

this is my favourite ever t-shirt bra

In the nude shade, it disappears under any colour or weight of fabric. It gives a lovely rounded smooth shape too, not at all pointy.

Allthingspretty · 01/06/2013 18:11

I love fantasie bras and own quite lotsa few. Try HOF as i think there may be a promotion on them

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/06/2013 18:11

I'm a 32E too, and really like the Fantasie balcony ones.

MotherOfNations · 01/06/2013 18:30

Boux avenue's leyla bra gives a great shape. I love the 50s style high waisted knickers that go with it too. They do a matching thong if that's more your thing.

MotherOfNations · 01/06/2013 18:32

I mean Lyla.

MarianForrester · 01/06/2013 18:49

I find Fantasie make me look extremely matronly.

I've just seen they don't have it in your size, sorry.

Thye may have it on other websites though.

ouryve · 01/06/2013 18:58

I have a fantasie bra that's the best fit I've ever had and dead comfy and another, similar but subtly different one that I just don't get on with at all. They're nicely made, though - no rough seams and the fabric's nice and soft and not too sweaty - I have very sensitive skin.

LaTrucha · 01/06/2013 19:22

Will be back after I've put the kids to bed!

The winner was the Fantasie Elodie, if anyone is interested!

Great choice Smile

As a rule, Fantasie bras are generous in the cup. I would regard your bra size as being at least cup bigger i.e. a 32F when shopping in other brands, possibly FF in Bravissimo own brands like Alana.

I find the Fantasie Nicola a great fit, and a more delicate fabric. I wear it in the same size as my Elodie.

marriednotdead · 07/06/2013 08:17

Marian Wacoal owns Fantasie, Freya and a whole load of other Eveden brands. Each brand has a different target market.

LaTrucha · 07/06/2013 09:55

Thanks for that. 32F? Shock Good to know! The cup does have a bit of a wrinkle on one side but the rest is good.
