Hi can anyone help me?! It's my daughters christening next weekend and I don't have anything to wear. I've put on loads of weight since having her and none of my per pregnancy clothes fit Sad
I'm 5'4'' and currently in size 18/20. I was hoping to wear a nice maxi dress, but went and tried a few on today and they weren't flattering AT ALL.

Hate my upper arms so want them covered if possible, and not too expensive either!

Love the dresses Mrs but I think they are more for a slimmer person! I would love to feel confident in them though. Sad

Bravissimo dress is lovely too!

Ah so im an inverted triangle? Ill have to remember that with DS when we r singing the 'I am a shape' song from Mr Maker when he asks me what shape I am GrinGrin

Peplum tops a no-no?

Love the asos one.
And the pepper berry.

Sorry never noticed the size what about this onewww.houseoffraser.co.uk/Mary+Portas+Firework+print+tunic/164499181,default,pd.html#BVRRWidgetID (read reviews though as someone who says they are size 18/20 fitted the size 12best)

I'm an inverted triangle too. LadyV dresses on humans here, here, here (with petticoat), petticoat here too and one last onw, without again.

Smartiepants79 · 30/05/2013 21:56

Yep, those lady V dresses could be flattering and a bit different.
Will definitely not look frumpy!
I love that dress shape . I would definitely have a petticoat.

Smartiepants79 · 30/05/2013 21:59

Just had a proper look at the website.
I love it.
Think I may have one when my DD gets christened.

HenriettaPye · 30/05/2013 22:32

Ooo lovely mrsLettuce! You think they would be ok even though I'm so top heavy?

I had decided on the bravissimo one but my size out of stock AngryAngryAngry grrrr....

I think those lady v dresses would be perfect if you're top heavy, the skirt would balance you out - they're gorgeous, very tempted to get one myself!

MrsLettuce · 30/05/2013 22:47

Absolutely, the fullness of the skirt balances the top half and creates a false hourglass. It really is worth getting a petticoat too, not essential but a good idea.

M&S do cropped cardies for a tenner in black or white which would work well with loads of thei r dresses.
