Step Mother of the Bride and faffing

Would the S&B collective please tell me to stop spotting dresses when I'm out shopping. I have a perfectly lovely dress, a bit like the brown and cream spotted dress from the polo scene in Pretty Woman.

But I keep seeing gorgeous dresses, especially as I have to walk past Coast to get to the train station.

So how many changes of outfit is it permitted for the Mother of the Bride to make in one day? Can I get away with a dress for the ceremony, one for lunch, another one for drinks/canapes and a gorgeous LBD for the evening? Grin

Seriously, can anyone help me find the right accessories for the dress? What would you team it with, or should I just copy Vivienne's gorgeous get up? a drunk once told me I looked like Julia Roberts

You could definitely get away with one change of clothes :) I would change just before drinks/canapes.

As for accessories for your day dress...I would go with nude or pale gold heels and cream Chanel-esque jacket. Are you intending to wear a hat?

I wouldn't copy La Roberts' take on the dress as that would be naff and people will get the reference straight away.
