Does it ever work?

I think cropped hair only really suits elfin feminine pretty faces. But that's just my opinion.

Only if you want to look like Beth Ditto.

Short hair on large women can often accentuate round cheeks and can make their shoulders look broader. It does depend on where you carry your weight.

Personally I would go for a mid length hair style. When you look at Dawn French, her hair stands out more than her size because it is well cut and very shiny.

Google images of Michelle Williams and Ginnifer Godwin, both annoyingly young and beautiful, but both also manage to do the round face pixie haircut look pretty well.

Dame Judi Dench isn't exactly elfin like but looks great.

I'm not trying to convince you, honest! Just thought this thread seemed a tad negative. Grin

Thank you for all opinions. I am just really sick of all myhair which is currently in a shoulder length layered bob

I love short hair, however I have a "fighting weight" when I can wear it. Anything above that and people tap me on the shoulder and say "excuse me sir". :(

(Which is doubly insulting to be mistaken for a man with a huge arse.)

Don't do it

SanityClause · 30/05/2013 07:00

I have had a pixie cut for about a year. I've had lots of compliments during that time, but now I'm bored with it, and I'm growing it out.

See what your hairdresser says. They see lots of people's hair, and will be able to advise you if it is likely to suit you.

And, if you don't like it, it will grow again.

Cassiphone · 30/05/2013 07:09

It really depends on your chin. Pointy chins work with a pixie cut, any other kind of chin and the hair looks a bit masculine... Round face/fat don't matter as much, although confidence does (can't hide behind hair if you don't have any).

browneyedpixie · 30/05/2013 08:19

I've been trying to grow my crop out, but the longer it gets the thinner my hair feels, so tonight I'm booked in for the chop!

I really like dawn o'porters bob, thats quite stand out like?

HellesBelles396 · 30/05/2013 08:39

Pob it is then.
