Is anyone else actually looking forward to autumn clothes and previews?

I am :) After spending this week in woollies and winter boots, my wardrobe needs a revamp of warmer clothes and I don't think we are going to get more than 12 weeks of summer- now to Sept.

unless it turns hotter soon then I am giving up on summer- all I've bought are 2 dresses and a pair of chinos, and as they are from Boden who do a 3 month refund, some of it might go back!

I have come to the conclusion finally, that its just not worth buying much in the way of summer clothes.

I seem to wear pretty much the same stuff for 10 months of the year. Lots of thin layers seems to be key for me.

AmandaPayneNeedsANap · 29/05/2013 09:04

Yes, yes. Every year I fall into the trap of thinking it's six months of each, when in reality even in a good year it's 8/4

bella65 · 29/05/2013 09:09

I've come to the conclusion that unless you are off to your villa in Tuscany for 6 weeks, or your 2nd home in Cornwall, then most of us don't need any /many summer clothes.

Quite Bella. Oh to have a villa in Tuscany Smile

All I've bought since Feb is more jumpers. I was in the shops yesterday, they were chock full of sleeveless lightweight stuff. I wanted a cream cardi but couldn't find one. No one was buying the sleeveless stuff.

I am particularly looking forward to the new M and s stuff

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/05/2013 09:20

I was in gap last week with discount voucher in hand. And in the fitting rooms everyone was trying on jeans and jumpers.

Next year the retailers won't bother with much in the way of high summer clothes and then we'll get a heatwave [please]

Orange - I'm sure gap had a cream cardigan

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/05/2013 09:23

Or boden have quite a few and there's a 20% off code at the moment

orangeandemons · 29/05/2013 09:47

But I want a long cashmere one.....

scarlet76 · 29/05/2013 18:24

Today I'm freezing in my Boden bistro crops. Buying no more summer stuff. Roll on the autumn collections.

Corygal · 29/05/2013 18:31

I can't wait. The relentless cold and wet is dismal enough without missing a season's worth of new clothes to boot.

I might go straight to autumn, the only dresses I've bought are neutrals anyway. I lucked out with some v bright plain T shirts in Primark for summer wear and I shan't be getting anything else.

orangeandemons · 29/05/2013 19:27

No, me neither, jumpers are the way forward

buttercrumble · 29/05/2013 19:29

I cant wait, much prefer winter fashion

JennySense · 29/05/2013 19:31

Lol yes apart from The Holiday I will be spending summer in the Frozen North

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/05/2013 20:05

I love Autumn. I haven't bothered buying any summer stuff this year, as we're unlikely to be going on a 'sun' holiday and the UK seems to have given up on the whole idea of summer. I want a new denim jacket, but it hardly seems worth it right now.

Maat · 29/05/2013 20:20

Even if I was off to somewhere tropical in the next couple of weeks, I would struggle to find anything to wear in the shops.

I suit autumn colours of rust, green, brown etc. I look dreadful in anything pastel, flourescent or white!

Annianni · 29/05/2013 21:21

I agree.
I'm now looking for ankle boots.

I had bought some silver Gigi's which were worn for the first time on Sunday.

And some new Havaianas which are still in the wrapper.

MrsC-B... I think you've got the Rag & Bone Newbury boots... what's the sizing like with them and are they comfortable?
