Do I choose Versace scarf or Shoes of Prey custom shoes, I need your VOTE.....

OK, just a quick vote required, its for my birthday coming up, been given some money to choose, should I go for

versace scarf £190

or shoes of prey leopard print platform peeptoes - £149

LOVE BOTH with a passion, (i know they won't be everyone's taste) thinking scarf will last longer and be more of a longterm choice, but shoes are to die for and they're bespoke?

I have been debating for days, cannot decide, so its up for a vote:

Scarf or Shoes.... thoughts please.

The Shoes of Prey link takes me to the homepage, not a specific shoe.

I'm going to say shoes anyway as I love leopard print and think that scarf is really and truly ugly.

AmberNectarine · 28/05/2013 16:44

I can't see your shoes but I say Versace. Leopard print peep toes are not hard to come by and that scarf is amazing!!

RedPencils · 28/05/2013 16:44

Shoes, classic style they'll last you years.

and buy a knock off scarf

rootypig · 28/05/2013 16:47

Scarf, shoes get worn out but one day your grandchild could wear the scarf!

madammecholet · 28/05/2013 16:50

I can't link directly to shoes, site won't let me, but they're just leopard uppers with black heels and platform - classic.

I was thinking scarf more a longterm buy Amber & Rootypig... I do realise it's not everyone's taste though Bunny but hey ho...Grin

Shoes.no. brainer.
Or if you really want a scarve, can it not be Hermes? dislike all things Versarsy Smile.

I joined Shoes of Prey after a friend raved about them (you have to sign up to even look at the 'design' process) and to be quite honest think that it is rather uninspiring and something of a rip-off. The 'designs' you can make are within very limited parameters, as you can only really pick the colour you want for about half a dozen basic shoe types (including flats and wedges). For example, there is no opportunity change the positioning or width of the straps on their sandals, or to do interesting things like change the straps for ribbons. The extra detailing that you can add is very limited. It is pretty well impossible to end up with something that doesn't look like it has just come straight of a high-street shelf, unless you go for some revolting colour combination. I really don't think that they are worth the money, and are nothing more than a gimmick.

Would look at Hermes ThePathan but cannot find anything under £200...

thistledew I've heard good stuff about them too tho and i'm only after something classic. I know what people mean though a pair of leopard shoes are ten a penny on the highstreet atm..

If you are after a classic, then I don't see the point of using Shoes of Prey at all. It is only worth using if you want something very specific and original to match to a particular outfit. Definitely go for the scarf.

anyone seen any pre loved Hermes scarves on websites? Am having a quick look but they're rare and won't buy them off ebay as they'll be fake...

@Cholet head over to the Purse Forum for advice on pre-loved Hermes. They also have volunteers who authenticate Ebay items plus approved sellers.
I managed to pick up a Hermes scarf for £65 - I would definitely go Hermes instead of Versace.

madammecholet · 29/05/2013 11:56

Thanks JennySense, will do..

AgentProvocateur · 29/05/2013 18:05

Hermes scarf. Not that Versace one - it will date.

BinksToEnlightenment · 29/05/2013 18:45

The scarf.

Blanketsandpillows · 29/05/2013 18:48
