Can't get bare minerals to look right!

Had my make up done at the bare minerals counter and it looked really good, and I liked the idea of it being more natural and had heard good things about it so bought the starter kit.

However, even though I had a go myself and did one half of my face while in the shop, I can't get it to work - it just looks like I'm not wearing any makeup. Obviously I want it to look natural but it doesn't seem to give me the coverage it did in the shop and you can still see all my uneven skin tone and blemishes.

I don't understand it!! What am I doing wrong? Thought I'd done everything the same! Hmm

Same here - I either look like I have no make up on or I look dusty.

Really want it to work!

Search you tube fkr minerql makeup tutorials. Maybe that will help.

I think the knack is to leave your moisturiser to sink in and then apply primer and leave for a few minutes.

Then dip your brush into the minerals, swirl the brush around in the lid and tap off the excess. Then move the brush in circles over your face.

I have broken red veins on one cheek, so I reapply it there a couple of times. It really gives the best coverage of any foundation I've ever tried and it doesn't rub off very easily, until you want it to. HTH.

Something I have never understood about the product is that they recommend a primer. If the idea is that the foundation should be buffed right into the skin what use is the primer?

swirl tap and buff a couple of light coats. id also wash your brush to soften it a bit.

I've been using BM for months and even now things only really start coming together when I put on the bronzer. Even then I'd say I look like someone with good skin who's chosen not to wear any make up. It's frustrating, because I feel I look like I haven't made an effort when actually I've swirled, tapped and buffed like buggery.

I have carried on swirling, tapping, and buffing. It looks better on my cheeks but nowhere else. As for using it as concealer - pah!!

Why can't I do it now when I could in the shop?? I know the makeup guy didn't use any special tricks - I watched him!!!

I wear mine over a BB cream (Khiels) rather than a primer and it seems to give a much better coverage.
