Where do you shop if your a size 14 plus

I'm 23. Before DD arrived I was an 8, I'm now a 14 and I don't mind it at all.
I just find clothes don't suit me and I've lost my way, I tend to buy charity shop stuff or off eBay. I was a size 16 a few years ago (4) so I do still have some of that I've kept
If you were shopping online for a big occasion where would you go? I've seen catalogues like simply bee and fashion world.
I just find the high street is so geared
Towards tall and skinny where as I'm a tall round thing
I'm not looking to buy anything right now, I just like browsing in case I'm ever in need.
There will be summer events coming up so I'm having a clear out to make a little money so might get myself a small treat.

Simply be have good young fashion size14-30. Also Marisota. I use both and I'm a size 22. A friend also recommends Curvissa.

Most shops sell clothes in a 14! It's really not that big. Oasis and Warehouse are nice for special clothes, Oasis does very flattering dresses and I like their jeans too.

I get where you are coming from - I'm a similar size and also very shapely - big hips, big boobs, defined waist. A lot of the typical high street stuff, whilst available in a 14, 16 or bigger is made and designed for much slimmer women IMO so whilst it might technically fit much of it looks godawful.

Dorothy perkins have some things - some of their fit and flare type dresses are good but other times they use a really flimsy fabric
Pepperberry - sometimes frumpy but have a few very flattering dresses and jackets from them. And the only place for shirts that actually fit!
Hobbs - As long as I go for something with a fuller skirt then I tend to like their dresses and skirts/suits quite a lot. A bit pricier but I find I wear them a lot.
Debenhams have some nice things
Oasis - I have had a few nice dresses but some of the fabrics can be a bit shiny.
Asos - again hit and miss but their heavier weight jersey dresses are nice
French Connection - especially online have some nice things.
LadyV - more nice dresses and great for curves
Just ordered a couple of dresses from Jaegar and Jigsaw which look good.

Depends on your style really. I seem to have bought a lot of Whistles stuff recently.

Oo, I like this question:

East for hand-printed dresses - pricey but often original in a peasanty sort of way, and comes up big (I take a size 14 dress and I have a 33 inch waist and 40 inch bust)

Monsoon pretty much ditto ^^

Kaliko for maxi skirts

Phase Eight for wrap tops and blouses

Jaeger for knitwear (go to the Outlet on their website. Their cashmere is heavenly

ASOS - absolutely ACE for sizes 14, 16, 18. They have heaps of midi skirts this year, and amazing dresses. Good value and run not huge (like East and Monsoon) but fairly generous

I like Monsoon, although some of their tops are quite short. Debenhams also does nice things.

M&S is hit or miss (stay away from the per una range...yuck!) and again sometimes the tops are very short.

Gap does some good stuff too, but with all these shops it's a matter of trying things and then seeing what suits you.

Also it helps if you are handy with a sewing machine or if you know a good seemstress.

Sometimes it's more about how you wear something, so for instance of you think a dress is quite short wear leggings underneath and turn it into a tunic, maybe with a nice belt to snip you in at the waist?

well, for those of you out there that are big ie: not a size 14 op I have accidently stumbled upon a site whilst looking for some hol clothes here exciteclothing.com/women-s-plus-size/new-in.html?page=all just ordered a top and a vest so no idea of quality etc but they are CHEAP! also suprising is that plus size on amazon brings up some interesting clothes. obviously not for the designer devotees but for cheap and cheerful I have had a few lovely tops, and not stuff that all the big girls are wearing cos we only have a couple of shops in town that cater and the simply be catalogue that we all seem to buy from.

It's not like it used to be years ago. I mean if you were anything over a perfect 10 then the clothes the shops were offering were a disgrace T.B.H and I.M.O for example elasticated pleated skirts.
The plus size clothes are far nicer now. I go to Simply Be and New Look and Evans. xxx

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Wallis. (Unless they closed down and nobody told me??) Plenty there for 14s and 16s.
