I think I saw some in New Look

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/05/2013 17:32

Dotty Ps have v cheap ones, but the Topshop ones felt like much better quality to me.

Matalan have got thick jersey Lycra roll top ones that come under the knee for a tenner

Yayyay go for it. I saw Erin O Connor, the supermodel, yesterday in Tesco wearing one and it looked great. I mean a good style rather than 'worked on a supermodel' good wh means nowt.

Turquoiseblue · 27/05/2013 22:25

hmm well, I doubt I ll look like Erin tbh, but i m going to give it a go, how anyone got inspiration on how to wear it ..with what .. loost t shirt ?

I am about to embark on this particular style journey myself. I have ordered 2 midi dresses and a skirt - all tube/straight style from TopShop.

When I posted earlier, another MNer suggested close fitting vest top. I will give it a go but am thinking a loose slouchy vest, tucked in, could look good and linen/slub slouchy tees. Footwear: am thinking tan ankle boots on cooler days, flat leather sandals on warm days.

LOVE a tube skirt, I wear them in winter with opaques, ankle boots and pointy flats but now the shops are full of ones that would work in the summer too. I'm currently wearing a new one I got at the weekend - only £14 from Dotty P's and the quality feels ok to me.

I never usually wear above-the-knee skirts without tights in summer except on holiday/weekends as feel I am too old and don't like my legs but am wondering it I might get away with it with a midi.

I think they look great with converse but alas I think I might be a bit too old to get away with that look Sad

Thanks for the heads up re the DPs ones - will try on, as they had a grey and black one which was rather nice.

I plan to wear them with Converse low tops if we ever get a summer - am 43.
