Mini Boden, Joules, The White Company, Baby Gap - where else for little girls?

DT's urgently need a summer wardrobe - it turns out that last summer they were still in clothes from the year before so I've just pulled out a pile of stuff for age 3. Time to shop .

I'm totally uninspired by Boden, The White Co, Gap which are my usual haunts for them. I'll pick up a couple of things in Next probably but where else can I look?

There is also a make called mayoral which is nice, and sometimes benetton has nice bits, but there aren't many bennetton shops left. Zara often has a few nice things too.

The designer bit at Debenhams? Can't remember what it is called ( although i think it may be more of a winner for boys..)

Etsy and folksy. Handmade, so unique and reasonably priced. Folksy is the uk one, etsy more international, though with plenty of uk makers. No sweatshops, some really pretty garments.

I shop at all those places you mention for my DD, plus John Lewis. I have quite a bit of mayoral stuff for DS and I am not massively enthralled with it. I have just discovered Zulily, but you wouldn't be able to buy a whole wardrobe in one go as it depends what they have on offer at any one time. But I have has to stop opening their emails as there is too much temptation.

H&M is good for some basics. Jojo maman bebe is ok for younger children, but can be a bit samey.

H&M isn't bad - similar to Gap in many respects, but cheaper and not so good quality. I got a lovely t-shirt fabric dress from there earlier this year for about £5 - similar in Boden for £20.
I quite like Sainsburys too Fairlylea - I've some nice basic plain t-shirts from there.
Do you have any fair-tradey type shops near you? There is a nice one near where I live that sells Frugi and similar brands.
John Lewis and maybe Debenhams? I haven't shopped there for a bit, but have bought the odd 'designer-ey' item from there - Little Rocha can be nice.

Brilliant! Thank you! Don't know why I hadn't checked JL website as its usually my first port of call. Benetton - lovely stuff. I got them a few pairs of leggings and long sleeve t's there in April and can maybe get to a shop next week so that's a great idea. Meantime, off to check out the rest of your ideas - thank you.

Surprised by how much I like some mothercare.

Third (fourth?) H & M. Not brilliant quality but bright colours and good designs.

I also love Polarn O Pyret. Designs are fab. The cotton they use for clothing is far superior to any other brand in same price bracket. No bobbling, fading, stretching. Looks like new. In fact just bought a gorgeous t shirt POP t shirt from ebay and it's obviously been well worn as the care label has faded to nothing. Otherwise it looks immaculate.

John Lewis and have you tried BHS? You may be surprised...

I am loving Zara

If they are smaller than 5-6 (I think) then Boots also has a little range which can have the odd gem in it - I think they are supplied by Mothercare.

Gymboree and Crazy 8 - I shop for my DD twice a year in the sales, everything gets massively reduced, it's great quality and fits her for ages.

Oh yes, Zara too.

I'd happily shop nowhere other than Zara for my Dd if the bank would allow me :-)

Benetton has been good for my two 11 and 7 this summer - lovely summer dress / leggings for dd and jeans / t-shirts for ds . Had good Zara stuff in Winter for DS .

I discovered Mini Mistral the other day - lovely.

Am filling too many virtual baskets . Lovely things in John Lewis and also Crew Clothing have a couple of nice skirts and dresses. Going to check out the links since my last post - thanks!
