What's the beat foundation and concealer you have ever had?

I'm just wondering whats the best foundation and concealer? It's nearly my birthday and I'm about to treat myself!

I have heard este lauder is a great foundation!

The last concealer I had which seemed ok was boing I think by benefit!

Would like to hear what others recommend

I want coverage bt without feeling clogged with makeup

I like Laura mercier tinted moisturiser with bobby brown loose powder and concealer.

By Terry Cover Expert is amazing. I like Laura Mercier Secret Concealer.

Healthy mix serum in winter, works well when not tanned
Chantecalle tinted moisturiser in summer, btw it had more coverage than a lot of proper foundations

Illamasqua Skin Base foundation.

Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer.

Ellis Faas foundation is just gorgeously dewy, stays put somehow too.

The matching concealer is nice as well but I like Alison Raffaele for a really flawless look, great at covering blueish shit round eyes without being drying.

That being said, I'm wearing all that today and still look like a bag of spanners so...

A second here for healthy mix serum. It's amazing. And aldi lacura concealer is brilliant.

I think it depends so so much on your skin and colouring. Different foundations work well on different people.

I use Lancome Teint Miracle and really rate it. I stopped wearing it for a while and wore Max Factor and since I started using it again I have had so many compliments on my skin and how fresh and well I look. It lasts all day long.

I did not get on with Estee Lauder foundation, too thick or too orangy for me.

I would love to try By Terry because I have only heard great things, but I live in a small city where I cannot get hold of it so I went for the Lancome because I could buy it in Boots!

Illamasqua concealer.

(would be Illamasqua light liquid foundation but I find it still needs a bit of work on your skin before using it to turn out perfect as I have dry skin)

Dior Forever has been my favourite foundation for a couple of years now. Depends on your skin though? My skin is very oily and no foundation ever seemed to stay on it long enough. Dior Forever does stay for ages. And if I use any primer (ideally - Smashbox when I can afford it,if not Loreal is really good too), it stays on literally all day. As for concealers, I use Rimmel Hide the blemish, really good and reasonable price too.

I'm a MUA and my favourite to use on me is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk-it's gorgeous, lasts beautifully and makes the skin look flawless. I would avoid Estée Lauder Double Wear if you don't like the full face look, though it can be used with moisturiser to thin it a bit. I also rate MAC Face and Body, Bourjois Healthy Mix and Liz Earle Skin Tint.

Nothing beats Bobbi brown correctors and concealers IMO.

I second Giorgio Armani luminous silk. I was using bobbi brown until my wedding when my wedding make up artist used that. It is amazing, the perfect colour and coverage and lasts all day. Only bugbear is it doesn't have IVF but my bb cream does so I'm not too fussed.

My concelear is an old Clinique one that was discontinued when I was about 19. I went round buying them up and still have loads left. I've a slightly nagging feeling they might have gone off! Very rarely use them though as I don't have bags and the Armani is so good.

I'd recommend you pay for a mua as they will be impartial! Or at least more impartial than the ones on shop counters...

Bobbi Brown concealer

Used to use Clinique Repairwear foundation until they reformulated and it's not the same at all.

Have just bought Nars Glow foundation which is quite nice. It's not glowy at all- in fact it's quite matte.

Lancome Teint Miracle gives a nice finish but it's full of alcohol- you can smell it when you apply- and that is a really serious skin irritant.

I absolutely loved Chantecaille Future Skin, but my skin turned very sensitive and I couldn't use it any more. I've not found another that I liked as much. :(

La Roche Posay Corrective Fluid Foundation (think that's what it's called) makes a fab concealer though.

FluffyDressingGown, I did the same. I put the lancome Teint Miracle away and used a Clarins one. Then about ten days ago, I dragged out the lancome again and I remembered how lovely it is. Unfortunately, it does cause skin irritation after a few weeks' wear on me, so I have to alternate. For that reason, I wouldn't buy it again.

The Clarins EverMatte is my "other" and I like that too. Not matte in an E L Double Wear kind of heavy way! Really nice over my spf50, too.

I also love Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, the colour and finish is perfect on me.

Concealers, I use Mac mineralise concealer under my eyes (and for minor issues!) and Laura Mercier secret camouflage for spots and redness.

As others have said, it really depends on your skin as to what looks best on you. I'd get samples of anything you are thinking of trying. I never used to do that, and at around £27 a shot for some of the posher ones, ended up wasting a lot of money.

I've just tried a sample of Lancome Teint Miracle but found it a bit greasy. Same with YSL. I've just finished a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear though and absolutely love it. I have just got a full size bottle of it. I've had a few compliments over the last week about how young/nice my skin looks :) I use YSL Touche Eclat under/around my eyes and it's OK - nothing amazing though on me. I think it works well for some but not for others.

One thing I am sold on though is the DermaFlannel which I've been using for nearly a week and already have smoother, softer, less clogged looking skin. Would never have heard of it if it hadn't been on S&B.

Right now i'm using a boots no7 brand foundation, which suits me well.

Concealer is a bog standard cheapo max factor one I think.

I can honestly say I have never tired any of the foundations mentioned on here

The este lauder double one is the one that was recommended! And I've looked online and saw there is also a double wear light so it doesn't feel too thick

Another vote here for BB corrector and concealer.

I'm currently using BB Skin foundation. I've got combination skin and suffer with hormonal breakouts on my chin. High redness in my cheeks too (sound lovely, don't ) so I like a good coverage.

I've tried ELDW, Clarins, Estée Lauder, Clinque, MAC and Lancôme and all left my skin feeling a bit parched a few hours after applying. Not to mention looking slightly tangoed also as their shade range (or the shade the orange lady convinced me to buy) just didn't match my skin tone.

I'm currently using BB Skin foundation which is more watery than those above but allows for more layering where I need it. So far I'm happy with it (and their shade range is good) and I think I look less caked up.

I'm thinking of trying Laura Mercier as she gets good reviews.

Have recently been using Lancôme Visionairre foundation which has a new concept of having its own concealer in the lid;the same colour as the foundation. This is such a good idea as it means any blemishes are covered up inconspiculously,it is a lovely foundation I am very impressed with it.The colour range is good too.

The Estee Lauder Touche Eclat foundation is perfection. Medium buildable coverage, dewy without being shiny that can become matte with a dusting of powder and long wearing without separating or clogging the pores. Truly worth the £30+ price tag.

As for concealer I honestly can't fault the £4.99 Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. Thick without being difficult to blend, light enough to blend into pale skins, long wearing and very good coverage.

I have a new hero combination. This week I've bought Estee Lauder Invisible fluid make up and use it in conjunction with Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer.

It looks fan-bloody-tastic and I'm well impressed, it beats By Terry Cover Expert by a mile.* I am extra glowing! < could be the Derma flannel >

*I am a sucker for a new product and always swear it's better than the last one .

I've been using rimmel 25 hour foundation this week after reading a recommendation for it on mn. Although Im usually a makeup snob i love it and prefer it to my Laura Mercier that I had been using. If you get it you'll then have lots of leftover cash for more birthday treats!

Another vote for Dior Forever here. I have tried lots of different foundations and this is by far te best on me.
Concealer: can't remember the name but an EL one in blue tube with gold lid.
Tinted moisturizer: Bobbi Brown
