champneys exotic retreat body cream - has anyone tried it?

I got a champneys exotic retreat set for my birthday but I've just tried the body cream and it smells a bit chemically almost like fake tan... is it supposed to smell like that?

I have tried it - to be honest i wan't that impressed either. It does have an odd smell, and I also found it quite thin and not rich/creamy at all. Disappointing :-(
