Saturday night in London - overweight and middle aged, what to wear?

I'm going out in London this Saturday with some friends. I don't go out much in London, and when i do I'm usually in work clothes, so I've no idea what to wear. I'm size 16/18 and 37, definitely apple shaped. I'm getting my hair done in the afternoon, so hopefully that should look fab. What do people wear these days? My normal style is Boden/ Fat Face, but want to look smarter than that. I guess budget could do up to £150. I was wondering about jeans, nice top and heels. I have jeans, what nice top? Or if dress, what dress? It will be need to be available in a good sized town that has a John Lewis and Debenhams, but no House of Fraser, and I can get it at lunchtime tomorrow

Right, so I had some success

I bought these 2 tops

beige

blue

I"m going to wear the beige one, as I found a blazer I had forgotten about which would look good with it, so I'm getting there. Will definitely be doing flats into heels, but still not sure what shoes because of the rubbish weather
