I have to go to a prom - help!

My class are leaving this year, and I have to go to their prom.
I have no idea what I am supposed to wear to a prom (they weren't invented when I was at school! )

So what do I wear - I have a floor length ball gown, a cocktail dress (and my wedding dress which I threatened to wear, they all thought that was a good idea but I can't fit in it )

could you pop photos of the dresses on your profile?

You can wear what you like as the kids are more concerned about what they are wearing! I usually wear a cocktail dress or a monsoon type dress. They are lovely events and the kids get so excited.

I can't put photos up at the mo as the dresses are in the wardrobe in the kids' room!
The main reason for asking was so I will 'blend into the background' - so cocktail dress would be much less formal I think bulby
