Honestly, is it possible to make your hair grow faster?

Because I want to be able to plait my pubes.

Grin nah, I just am getting sick of my shoulder length hair, it won't bloody grow.

I used to have lovely waist length hair but I got it cut into a bob at 18 and have not been able to get it past shoulder length since.

Do any of the lotions or potions actually work? Has anyone got any tips for me?

Try Biotin. I used it after chemo and I found it worked.

RiotsNotDiets · 11/05/2013 10:04

Thanks Zara, is that a tablet? How fast would you say it worked?

Here's some more info about it

Sorry, yes you take it in tablet form. Took a month or so to see a difference.

Ooh that looks interesting - my hair breaks easily and I struggle to get it longer than my shoulders. I've found coconut oil as a weekly treatment helps prolong the life of my hair.

SoldeInvierno · 11/05/2013 11:56

Biotin really works for me. I get the 10000mg ones from amazon

SoldeInvierno · 11/05/2013 11:57

10000mcg, that should say

Saw something recently about viviscal. Very expensive supplement but has rave reviews.

RiotsNotDiets · 11/05/2013 14:20

Flamin' Nora Bouncey Googled it, it's about £200 for a 6 month supply and that's on offer!

Think I'll give the Biotin a go.

hair is kinda like a clock: if you stop watching it it will grow/go faster.

Sunshinewithshowers · 11/05/2013 15:55

Lots of trims, I would say & maybe not a lot of heat.
It could well be growing nicely, but every time you brush it, the ends could be breaking.

like mine

Vit D - you've probably noticed it grows quicker in the Summer 9 if we ever get one) well seems this is the reason why - My GP gave me vit D for health reasons & I've noticed my hair & nails are growing like crazy as a result

WeAreNinjaNotGeisha · 13/05/2013 10:16

Get knocked up - worked for me! Grin

EffieTheDuck · 13/05/2013 10:16

Yes to vit D and folic acid. It makes all your hair grow fast.

I don't have any particular supplements to recommend, but good nutrition is the key. It's determined by your genes and grows optimally when your body chemistry is in good shape. So I suppose I'm suggesting good varied diet and a multivitamin/mineral supplement if you think you may have gaps.

YoniOno · 13/05/2013 10:32

My hair stopped growing when I was pregnant Confused even the hair on my body, which was handy when I couldn't reach to shave my legs!
