Should I have remainder of my highlights trimmed out?

I'm part of the contingent who are 'embracing the grey'. My hair is rather multicoloured at the moment - mouse/grey for the first few inches then blonde highlights. It's in a shoulder-length layered style and I'm contemplating having all the light bits cut out next week. Any thoughts?

Go for it! Any idea what sort of style, how long is the true coloured hair?

My hair is a dark blonde/mouse plus increasing amounts of grey! I'm 48 and am happy to let nature take its course so the change of colour doesn't bother me. I have thick, wavy hair so need to accommodate this into the style - hence my thoughts about retaining the layers (longest are shoulder length) for an informal style.

I'm anxious that if I have the top layers cut too short (to snip out the grey) then I'll look like a poodle! On the other hand, the highlighted blonde looks so naff, I really want to be rid of it!
