Bold, gorgeous emerald green - good on dark eyed, light olive skinned brunettes ?

I'm off out on Saturday and have decided to have a change and buy something new rather than opting for my old faithful, flattering black outfit which I lurve but has seen too many nights out recently.

I'm going into real shops tomorrow, DD is at nursery all day (obv theboys are in school) so I've got a WHOLE day of ME, ME, ME shopping Grin. I've been skimming overa few websites for ideas and came across a yummy bold green camisole thing on Monsoon's website and found "Suzie Green Sequin Edge Camisole" (£40), 'cos I can't link directly to the page, you'll have to scoot over to \link{http://store.monsoon.co.uk/catalog/Welcome\Monsoon.co.uk} and scroll through to it via 'Womens', then 'Tops', then 'Camisoles'. What do you reckon ? It's a bold colour, quite a departure from my usual night out garb.

I like, not madly but I do like.

NomDePlume · 18/05/2006 21:56

Lol ! By too many nights out, I mean it has been out on the last 3 of my monthly girl's nights out !

YES! I am a dark-eyed, light olive skinned brunette and this colour well and truly works.

You are young. I think this top will really workf for you.

What accessories?

NomDePlume · 18/05/2006 21:57

Budget not a huge issue - DH is paying Wink

Big bingo wings here and not a natural camisole wearer. I'm Envy that you are, though.

womblingalong · 18/05/2006 21:58

absolutely, I'm sure it will be gorge on you! The green really works with dark eyes and hair

beetle73 · 18/05/2006 21:58

So am I EPIS. Time to try emerald for me.

Frenchgirl · 18/05/2006 21:59

yes, that's lovely, I have a v similar one from kew (but no sequins on mine, I have dark hair/green eyes), you'll look beautiful!

NomDePlume · 18/05/2006 21:59

I don't know about accessoires, expat, I was thinking chunky and simple (a bit like the wearer Wink). I'm fairly 'booby' so anyhing too fiddly will deffo accentuate my top heavy-ness.

Oooooh, exciting ! I just have to find a bra that will look nice, but not tarty (and will fit) underneath it.... Could be more of a challenge

I bet my local branch of Monsoon won't have it in, so I won't be able to try it on.

expatinscotland · 18/05/2006 22:06

go for a bracelet or earrings if you don't want to draw more attention to your bosoms.

NomDePlume · 18/05/2006 22:07

I don't really wear much jewellery in day to day life anyway, just a pair of simple silver earrings and my wedding/engagement rings

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 18/05/2006 22:15

hair up or down?

if down, go for bracelet. if up, earrings.

nutcracker · 18/05/2006 22:18

I love that top, looked at it longingly the other day.

nutcracker · 18/05/2006 22:19

You wearing jeans with it ?

NomDePlume · 18/05/2006 22:20

Probably down, I have a jaw length, choppy bob.

Not sure about jeans, probably not because of where we might end up, lots of places won't let you in if you are wearing jeans.

Black cropped trous. Grey as well.

Statement earrings and handbag.

Heels.

Fitted jacket.

beetle73 · 18/05/2006 22:30

I'm liking a lot of the stuff in the window of Monsoon at the moment. Love 50s-shape dresses.

NomDePlume · 18/05/2006 22:31

me too Beetle, but whenever I out them on I just think 'erm, maybe not'.
