This 50's type swimsuit, shite or alright?

Here

I'm an inverted triangle with a bit of a belly. Size 14 dress, 5' 3". My norkage is reasonably sized (DD / E, depending) but very sad, soft, floppy and squishy so I need decent coverage 'cause they wrinkle and flop their way out at any opportunity.

My thinking is that it should provide some much needed balance for my figure (hips measure a size 10) but would it, in actual fact just look frumpy? I think I like the cut but the print? Really not sure.

Am also seriously considering Bunny's pink spotty one but it'd be cracking on for 40 euros including postage by the time it gets here, so, obviously I'm considering spending double to have the chance of exchanging Hmm

Tried this on last time year (here) but it was horrid on me so back it went.

I don't like it, I think it looks like something someone in their 70s would wear with a swimcap.

MrsLettuce · 03/05/2013 20:24

Oh yeah, and I saw this in the sale in my cup size but I fear it may well be a fail. If not on design then on the tit containment front.

www.forluna.co.uk/

Have a look on here also some vintage styles I like them.

MrsLettuce · 03/05/2013 20:25

That is the danger, yeah Grin

THanks teddy. Is pretty much the same stock as the shop over here (no international postage costs). Here. The Pin Up Couture ones don't work on me so I'm looking at these, maybe try the cherry one if not the dress thing.

I've heard good things about the Esther Williams swimsuits, never sure how flattering the swimdresses are though

tiredteddy · 03/05/2013 20:35

Think I'm a similar shape to you size 12 5ft2in and 32DD/E. I have the navy spot one and find it very flattering on my squashy tummy and good bust support. Hope you find something.

MrsLettuce · 03/05/2013 20:39

No, me neither Kore, thing is, I really am shaped like this 16 at the top, 14 in the middle, 10 at the bottom. However, my hair is fabulous and I have a nice smile

Love all those 50's swimming costumes - sadly I don't have the cleavage to carry one off. Don't like the M&S one at all!

CoolStoryBro · 03/05/2013 20:45

I love the bright red one on the Fortuna link.

MrsLettuce · 03/05/2013 22:36

Right, I shall give it a miss then Wink

If it had big spots or cherry print or some other 'vintage' trope I'd have one in a flash but, the wee rosey print is indeed wrong on that suit. grumph.

Oooh and aaah and possibly, maybe even squeee. Mmm

I have it in blue (from last year) and it is loverly. Really flattering and gives excellent norkage support.

KoreRenati · 03/05/2013 22:45

That second one is gorgeous!

MrsLettuce · 03/05/2013 22:50

I ADORE that second one. Bikini shelved. Not enough support.

MrsLettuce · 04/05/2013 16:26

MrsLettuce · 07/05/2013 16:02

It's here and it's fucking fabulous Grin

Am surprised and pleased to find that the main part is fine checkerboard rather than gingham. Oooh. Happy Lettuce.
