I have tried allsorts: olive oil hair treatments, Tresemme Platinum conditioner and shots, conditioning treatments at the hairdressers...
My hair is still bone dry!
Can anyone help with any ideas? Please!

Give us more info OP - is your hair curly, straight, wavy? How often do you wash and which products do you use? Do you eat much protein and 'good' fats like avocado, olive oil etc? Do you use heat on your hair - hairdryer or straightners?

Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner stuff it's fab!

Megsdaughter · 03/05/2013 19:25

John Freida serum, works everytime on mine. I use it everytime.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime and Aveda Damage Remedy make my hair lovely. But one wash later and I'm back to having a bail of hay for hair.

I have long (past my shoulders) straight, layered and dyed hair (am 40 so have some greys) I wash and condition every day and normally use L'oreal Elvive, VO5 or Tresemme products to wash and condition. Just started having a teaspoon of coconut oil this week to eat. I dry with a hairdryer every day and only straighten when going for a night out (about twice a year!)

Coconut oil

Allthingspretty · 03/05/2013 19:34

Aveda dry remedy

turkeyboots · 03/05/2013 19:34

Put the oil on your hair, don't eat it. Olive oil or argan oil - a drop or two through your hair before drying and another drop or so after.

I have never been able to control my thick wavey dry dry hair until I discovered oils. The Eleve hair oils which have just launched are nice too.

Allthingspretty · 03/05/2013 19:34

Sorry i meant damage remedy

BerryBlast · 03/05/2013 19:37

Joico K-Pak shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioning mask - all three are very good. Make sure you use a heat protector spray as well and when you're in the sun use a spray (like a suntan lotion for hair !) Kerastase do one Soliel (?) something or other Smile

BestestBrownies · 03/05/2013 19:50

Argan oil. Also, don't wash and blow dry daily. If you can towel dry then leave to dry naturally. Wash only every 3 to 4 days (or less if you can manage).

hexagonal · 03/05/2013 19:52

Coconut oil!

ivykaty44 · 03/05/2013 19:57

olive oil - put it in your hair and scalp though - rather than eating it Smile It is actually a lot lot lot cheaper to use than a lot of expensive hair products that promise the earth and moon.

ivykaty44 · 03/05/2013 19:58

Oh and I would plaster it on and leave overnight or all evening, then wash in the shower int he morning.

My hairdresser has been on at me for ages about my dry hair. He says....

Wash hair
Towel dry
Then apply conditioner (I use Aussie miracle stuff)

I finally have got around to following his advice and it's started making a real difference.

Also from him...before swimming, apply cheap conditioner to hair and put in rubber hat.

PullyWoolOver · 03/05/2013 20:10

OP, I have dry, dry hair that is also v thick. Argan oil did nothing for me, but would recommend the new Elvive oil, is it called 'miracle' or some such name? It's in an orange bottle anyhow. It's been two months now since I started using it and it's actually made a difference. My hair could now be described as 'smooth' rather than 'dragged through hedge' Grin
