What is the point of natural collection makeup?

I mean, who is it for?

Ie their target audience. It's surely too boring for teenagers, which is what it's price point would suggest.

The blusher is good. I think it may have been trying to be a cheaper Body Shop esque thing when it started - but my teens would no more buy their make up in the Body Shop than they would buy their clothes in Austin Reed.

bollockstoit · 25/04/2013 21:11

It was in fashion for teenagers when I was a teenager in the 90s, but I think even then I only ever bought one or two things from it. Someone must be buying it though...

PoppyWearer · 25/04/2013 21:11

I have been wondering that too. I didn't realise it was so cheap until I was looking for some nail polish for 4yo DD (for something for school, before anyone flames me) and lo, there it was.

I ventured into buying some concealer and powder as the ones I keep in my handbag always get wrecked, but have concluded they slide off my face within about 30 seconds of application...

greenteawithlemon · 25/04/2013 21:14

It is very cheap! I bought a bronzer today for £2!

Maybe it's aimed at older people who have the bank balance of a teenager? Might check it out.

greenteawithlemon · 25/04/2013 21:28

I did wonder if it was for quite young teenagers whose parents were just allowing them to wear makeup, hence the 'natural' parent-placating tag. But that seemed like too small a market share to make it viable.

The mascara is very good for everyday wear and a real bargain - I admit I am an older person, but with a smaller bank balance than my teenage DD Smile

SprinkleLiberally · 25/04/2013 21:36

They do a really excellent ivory eyeshadow which I use as an overall base. Seashell?

notwoo · 25/04/2013 21:38

Used to be popular when I was at a fairly strict school that didn't allow noticeable make up. Had the clear mascara, concealer and a couple of eye shadows.

I think it came in when bodyshop was really popular with teenagers.
In what way is it 'boring'? many young teenagers are only allowed to wear quite subtle makeup by their parents.

cremeeggsrock · 25/04/2013 21:51

have 2 lippys love both:) get compliments on them aswell.......bargain! 1 of them is bright red and fab! packaging naff though.....Blush

FoundAChopinLizt · 25/04/2013 21:55

I use the mascara all the time. I just thought it was like a 'basics' range.

YoniLovesChachi · 25/04/2013 21:56

I like the blusher too. It's not the best quality stuff, but it's cheap enough for trial and error.

HoneyDragon · 25/04/2013 21:58

My favourite lipstick is NC

margaritathatcher · 25/04/2013 22:12

Err...

I have the pressed powder, concealer and mascara. The packaging is a bit naff but the product is fine. I can't really tell the difference. Used to buy Boots No 7 but I'm on a budget and it's just got too expensive.

Is the pressed powder good? If so I'll get some tomorrow Smile

Iwantmybed · 25/04/2013 22:28

I use the blusher and a really nice pearl Eyeshadow.

greenteawithlemon · 25/04/2013 22:41

Not boring at all, badguider, but not really fitting with the usual teenage marketing midis operandi, like Barry M or Rimmel, which is all bright colours and glam.

MinnieBar · 25/04/2013 22:44

Genuine question - what's the point of clear mascara?

Anonymous88 · 25/04/2013 22:49

Love the blusher. It's the only makeup range that does a very very pale blush, all the others make me look like a drag queen (my colouring is literally white, lol), and not bad for £1.99 :)

JackieTheFart · 25/04/2013 23:17

I use the pressed and loose powder all the time, also the eye shadows and bronzers and blushers are good.

If I could I'd buy high end make up all the time, but it's so terribly hard trying to live a champagne lifestyle on a beer purse!

JackieTheFart · 25/04/2013 23:18

The foundation is utter SHITE though. Stay away!

Still18atheart · 25/04/2013 23:31

I use their foundation all because it is perfect colour for me, everything else is too pale or too dark for me.

I also use their eyeliner and blusher regularly
